Boston Deli — Restaurant in Town of Boston

We live in the neighborhood and twice now I have gone in there in the morning to get a breakfast sandwich and the first time the lady told me I could not have the one in the case due to it being reserved for another customer. All fine and well. Until I just went in there again for a breakfast sandwich and the gentleman, who was just sitting at the table talking with other gentlemen, stated that I couldn’t have any of the breakfast sandwiches as they were reserved for people that “come in everyday”. I think this is horrible customer service. I was told they stop making breakfast sandwiches at 10 am and this was at about 9 am…so why they couldn’t either make me one or sell me one that is already made and then make a replacement for that customer. It should be first come first serve OR if people are perhaps calling in and ordering this sandwiches ahead of time, delegate a different spot to house these essentially “take out order” sandwiches and have a few extras prepared for walk ins. This business seems to make walk in customers that aren’t regulars feel a bit alienated or like they don’t want...

I've been there a few times in the past but don't live too close so it's not a regular spot for me. My son and I were out in the area garage selling and were hungry and I knew just the spot. The owner was very nice and down to earth, treating others that walked in like they were family...obviously regulars. We sat down to eat alone at the big table and within minutes, others came to sit at the same table as if we were all together. Even the owner came and sat down and ate. When I was a child in the 60's this location was Don Thurber's deli. When he retired it was sold to a chain of convenience stores called Miller's. They completely revamped it and updated it from and old time deli to a well lite, professionally merchandised store. It's newest incarceration is " The Boston Deli" I no longer live in the area.
