Traveled in from out of state for a wedding we were attending that night, we stopped in for a quick lunch as it was close by the hotel we were staying at. However it was anything but quick. The guy at the register didn't understand English very well. Had to repeat my order 4 times, he still didn't understand me or my wife so he got the girl from the back to take the order. My wife ordered a bacon egg and cheese on a plain totasted bagel and I got roast beef with lettuce and mayo on a plain bagel. Simple quick orders I thought. The girl who started on my wife's order 1st seemed to be lost, not really knowing what to do. She also came out to help the guy as while we waited other customers came in and they were clear they were not happy with the service that was provided with one person having to raise his voice and point to all he wanted to get the guy to understand what he was asking for and repeated himself many times. And another person paid for a few things, ended up leaving with just one as they didn't have time to wait for everything as they were on there lunch break at work. After the girl was done making my wife's sandwich she starts on mine, she has the guy start slicing the roast beef on the deli slicer. But he couldn't figure out how to work it. I thought at one point he was going to cut his finger off. But thank fully he didnt. After a few minutes of failed attempts to slice the meat correctly, the girl trys to help him, but she too couldn't figure out how to use it right. She ends up telling us they are having issues, even thou this all happened right infront of us, we had tell them use a knife to cut the meat. She does and we get our sandwiches and leave. All in all it took about 20 to 25 mins to get our sandwiches, and they weren't even right. My wife's sandwich was not toasted, nor had any bacon on it that she ordered, and my sandwich had clumps of stake like thickness roast beef on it that I had to eat separately with a fork and knife.
I don't understand how a company can have two people work at a job that they have no clue on how to do it or what to do, and the one taking orders doesn't understand the language being...
Read moreI saw that it wasn't busy inside so I stopped in to order breakfast. I was the only one inside, but it still took the two ladies at the front awhile to take my order because one of them was yelling and screaming and the older lady was trying to calm her down. The younger blond hared lady was very unprofessional. It's alright to be frustrated about something, but it's not alright to express that frustration in front of patrons that are visiting. Not only did it take more time than I expected for one of them to take my order, but the older lady put down that I ordered a poppy bagel when I said twice that I wanted a poppy roll. I saw the cook grab the poppy bagel so I mentioned it to the other lady and she said that they didn't have poppy rolls. I told her that I would take a plain roll, but I wish that I was informed of that when I first ordered. She had the cook swap them out, and she said that "it's not a big deal" multiple times. The only reason that I didn't give this location a lower rating was because the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich was delicious. The owner should really consider who he has behind the counter serving their customers because that was embarrassing to say the least. Great job to the cook who made me a delicious breakfast sandwich or else I'd probably never return to...
Read moreFood prep hygiene issues. The person initially handling my bagel had no gloves on and had been using the cash register and everything else in the place and then handled my bagel. She then put it down on a counter where there were boxes and pens and all sorts of other paraphernalia. then another girl put on gloves and started to make my bagel. sorry folks too late for gloves at that point. I complained to the manager and he gave me a hollow apology then refunded my money upon my request. It's a shame because this is so close to my house but I will never go back there. I'll just have to make the trip out to the original bagel Boss in Hicksville which is of course the best. Obviously this isn't the end of the world but who knows how they handle all their other food and I'm not worrying about hygiene every time I go in there. I'm supposed to go there to relax and have a good experience. This is the first time I ventured beyond the original bagel Boss. I know there are other locations closer to me than Plainview/hicksville but I will never go to another location again. Original can't...
