Crazy Crepe Cafe & Coffee Shop — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

Where do I start. Hmmmm. I live nearby and have been wanting to eat there for some time. I've was ampt to visit due to the outstanding reviews. First time and will never return. First impression. Looks like a Mom n Pop "teenagers hangout basement" a couch with books to your left, followed by a row of tables and a round table with benches (for a larger group to sit) on the right as you walk in there's a little podium where a supposed host stands, followed by tables and chairs, at the end stands the so called "HOT BUFFET", rear of buffet is the kitchen. The staff was very pleasant however the food was not what I expected, the eggs were powdered, the following food tasted like IT came our of a freezer box: bacon, sausages, belgian waffle, waffle fries, diced potatoes and pancakes. fruit bowl n salad that look like it was there overnight. Ooohh wait the coffee was highly priced since it was the only thing that was "EXCELLENT". This place is a "HOLE IN THE WALL" and as long as teenagers, college students and young parents visit it will stand. As a foodie person that I am it did not by far meet my expectations. In conclusion for the older generation"stay away" powdered eggs will cause FLATULENCE and the rest of your breakfast will have you worship your "PORCELAIN" bowl. Truth be told...

I arrived at noon. Which is the halfway mark over there buffet hours. Went to the buffet table, half of everything was empty. What was left was cold, luke warm at best. I had to wait another 15 minutes to bring up the rest of the stuff (bacon, sausage, pancakes.). The three pancakes that were left, I watched one of the waitresses heat them up under a heat lamp for 5 minutes and then put back into the chafing dish. You have to toast your own bread (The right side didn't seem to be working.). Which leads to even colder food, so prioritize your movements. Forget about butter melting on your pancakes, waffles or bread for the mere fact that they're little tiny individually packed. Oh, make sure that you have salt, pepper & ketcup and your coffee (Which was empty, another wait.) or water which is all self-serve also before you go to the "buffet" which has the colder food. Now for the so-called scrabbled eggs which are either powdered or cooked by chef Mike (mic-ro-wave). No sign or mention of chocolate crepes. As for the fresh fruit what was there was so fresh that it wasn't even ripe. There's six people trolling around there at once. You think someone would check and keep up with the supplies. The food is good, the staff is friendly. However, staff is so lost. We ordered to eat in, and she brought the food placed it in the table without asking who had what or describing which plate was which. We were given the wrong smoothie but when the waiter came and we told her, she offered to change it. Lastly, we had a to go order and when went to get it, they were lost, they had to find the person that took the order to complete. The food: while they were tasty, the batter was too sweet for a savory crepe. Our to go order was a sweet berries crepe, called wild berries and list raspberries, strawberries and blueberries but lacked raspberries. Not a deal breaker but if they didn't have they could have told us. At least is one of very few creperies in Long Island and food was good despite all...
