I’ve heard so many great reviews about this place so i was excited to go. Five of us came and all basically ordered pasta dishes since we heard it was all fresh homemade. We came in about 4 o’clock and there were no other patrons. I was eager to have the fresh pasta, so I ordered rigatoni with Bolognese sauce. The portions were somewhat small, but I was more surprised that the pasta was still somewhat hard. The other people with us also said the same thing. One had lobster ravioli one had orichetti with broccoli rabe and also said the pasta was not cooked properly. I know what al dente is, but this was a little harder than al dente. And the pasta did not taste like homemade fresh pasta. The sauce was fine but more of a watered down Bolognese. They didn’t bring out any bread, but gave us out what looked like pizza crust triangles, which were burnt. We were a party of five, but they only brought us four. When dessert came I ordered the cheesecake. The cheesecake was extremely cold & really hard, as if it had been taken out of the freezer and had not defrosted yet. It did not taste like Italian cheesecake and was the consistency of ice cream. Again disappointing for someone who loves and knows Italian cheesecake. I asked the young lady to bring me coffee, and when she did, it turned out to be espresso. There is a distinct difference between regular coffee and espresso. It took me a few minutes to get her to come over because she was talking to another worker. I explained the problem to her and she seemed to insist that no, it’s coffee. I indicated again that no this is not regular coffee. She seemed very confused. I told her this is an espresso. She got very annoyed and instead of just offering me a regular cup of coffee she said fine I’ll just take it off the bill. She seemed young and very inexperienced. We had to repeatedly ask for salt, pepper, cheese, water etc., while she was busy talking to the front desk person. Overall, it was a little disappointing. I might try their pizza, but I don’t know that I would have dinner...
Read moreThey have been open for awhile now and we kept passing it saying we have to try it some time so Saturday night we went over for an early dinner,
Me, Red( the wife ) and the little one ( my daughter ) all agreed that it was very good and we would definitely go again.
It’s a warm inviting place with nice servers and a great atmosphere and decor. Limited but nice selection of beers.
Started off with the Calamari appetizer… very small portion, some pieces slightly overcooked and some pieces undercooked but the coating was excellent with the just the right amount of salt for flavor… the spicy red tomato sauce it was served with was very good and not too sweet. I would try it again, might have just been off in the cooking times so I’d give it another chance.
We ordered 3 different pies that for the life of me I can’t remember the names. One with sopressata and a hot honey sauce, one with pepperoni and sausage and another with pepperoni ( should have been sausage but Red wanted to sub in pepperoni ) and Broccoli rabe. Some of them had different cheeses and sauces. The little one like the sopressata one the best. Red liked the pepperoni and sausage the best and I was undecided between the pepperoni and sausage one and the pepperoni and broccoli rabe one. All of the flavors were excellent and the pies were nicely presented. Me and Red agreed that we would have liked them a little more well done and the little one thought they were perfect as is. We honestly could have ordered 2 pies and the appetizer and been fine with that but we wanted to try a variety and I definitely ended up eating more than I should have.
Overall we really liked the place and will definitely go back. Nice little...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at San Marzano Trattoria, and I must say, it was a delightful culinary experience. The restaurant's focus on fresh pasta truly shines through in every dish they serve. The pasta was cooked to perfection, with a wonderful texture that was both tender and al dente.
One of the standout features of San Marzano Trattoria is their impressive selection of sauces. They offer a wide range of options that cater to different tastes and preferences. Each sauce complemented the pasta beautifully, adding depth and flavor to every bite.
In addition to their exceptional pasta dishes, the wood-fired pizza at San Marzano Trattoria is a definite crowd-pleaser. The crust was perfectly crisp on the outside and delightfully chewy on the inside, thanks to the traditional wood-fired oven. Topped with fresh ingredients and a generous amount of cheese, each slice was a heavenly combination of flavors.
The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting, with a cozy and rustic Italian feel. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring that every diner felt welcomed and well taken care of.
