I have gone here in the past with no issues. The first time I decided to go out with a girlfriend and I mean, this is the first time i've been out in a very long time. They were very busy, so we decided to sit at the bar. The heavy set blonde bartender with the glasses just kept walking past us. Didn't say hi didn't say anything until we had to ask her if we could put a drink order in which she was already going over taking a drink order for a couple that had just sat down at the bar. This was so awkward.. plus every time we needed something we had to get her attention. She never came to us once, she was very rude, and not just to us.. but to a lot of other people too. As we're waiting to place our dinner order, she's on her phone and drinking her drink like the bar was empty... besides, not asking us how everything is and not having any communication with us. It was just nothing but uncomfortability. We had to go to the bathroom before we left. I still had my drink at the bar and I put a napkin on top of it. And I told her I'd be right back, and she acknowledged that and when I got back to the bar, my drink was gone and my bill was there.. i asked where it was, and she said, I don't know I didn't touch it. I said, okay.. Well, it was there and 3 quarters of the way full, and it's on my bill. Now I told her not to worry about it and she decides to go over and make it talk to me like a child and said see it's all better now. It's fixed, not a problem and I said, well, it is a problem because I told you I didn't want it. I don't know if it was because I was with my friend who is light skinned if they're racist or what, but this is not the first time i've heard of this happening with this person. I'm not going to go back there to sit at the bar and be treated like that. When I just wanted to have a nice time out.. i cannot believe that people stand for this in their restaurant. I mean, if I was the person serving people I'd be as nice as I could to make as much tips as I could and I'd want to bring those people back.

Read moreDrifters Restaurant & Bar is a restaurant situated in the heart of Ridge. It is our new favorite place!
As you step your foot into the restaurant, you are welcomed by the magnificent urban setting, a beautiful mix of luxury and modernity. The bar inside is gorgeous and fits many guests. The outside patio is welcoming and it’s couches and flexible seating are the most comfortable place to gather with friends for for drinks.
The menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouth-watering starters followed by the main course, specially designed for youngsters and adults. My favorites are the House poutine, the nachos with pulled pork and the Nashville Chicken sandwich. We have eaten there once a week since it has opened and have never had a bad meal. On several occasions we have taken friends and family who have raved about their meals days later! My daughters favorite is the morning after burger which a huge burger with cheese, bacon, a fried egg, and a hash brown which is served with maple syrup. The food is exquisite. We finally tried dessert the other night we had the cookie lava and oh my goodness it was heaven!
The menu is fresh and refreshing, the staff is friendly and the kitchen staff give a home-made feeling to their creations by using only the best quality ingredients.
Drifters Kitchen and Bar offers various types of drinks, the pineapple martini is a favorite of mine, and the beers are ice cold and delicious. The service is very high level and attentive. The owner is warm, thoughtful and continuously engages with his guests. The manager Anthony is amazing always making sure you are comfortable and that have everything you need, and of course Amy is the absolute best!!
Because of the brilliant atmosphere and delicious food, I highly recommend going to Drifters...
Read moreI recently dined at this restaurant with my boyfriend, and unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. Despite the food and drinks being delicious, the customer service was abysmal.
From the start, we were treated poorly. We arrived at 9:30 on a Sunday and at 10:20 our dinner order still had not been taken. We had to flag down a waitress from another section to even get our order placed before the kitchen closed. To make matters worse, we were given the bill before our meals even arrived, which felt incredibly rushed and disrespectful. When we finally did recieve the dinner it was in to go boxes…. My waitress said it was because we told another service we’d like it to go and it was never the case. I got dressed for dinner and felt unwelcomed.
As the only African American couple in the establishment, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was being rushed out of the door. I was never offered dessert, and the whole experience felt unwelcoming and uncomfortable. It was as if we were an inconvenience rather than valued customers. My boyfriend was extremely angered as what was supposed to be a celebratory dinner turned so uncomfortable. Nothing was on accident!
This restaurant has the potential to be great, but the lack of proper customer service completely overshadowed the quality of the food. I sincerely hope they take steps to improve their service and make every guest feel welcome. Until then, I will will be not be a customer. I would not recommend this spot to my worst enemy the energy was horrible. I still left a tip to not be seen as “those people”…
I was so upset with the interaction I chose to leave the to go food and only pay for the appetizer and drink. Can tell when I...
