Eduardo's Trattoria — Restaurant in Town of Carmel

The 3 star rating is for the "diner" feel, not the food, which is excellent. Two different friends recommended that we try this relatively new restaurant, so on a Sunday afternoon we did and were happy we did. The interior is bright and modern, with seven tables and a long bench type table, directly in front of the large TV, behind the bar. The staff was very pleasant and we couldn't help but notice how often the phone range for delivery and pick up orders. As always we started with Mussels, in a White Wine garlicky sauce that was delicious and perfect with the Garlic Bread that was on the table. Southwestern Grilled Cajun Shrimp Salad with baby arugula, shredded carrots, avocado and tomatoes in a roasted pepper vinaigrette is wonderful. Tortellini Nonna, Shrimp cheese tortellini, sun-dried tomato and sweet peas in parmesan sauce is wonderful. Wonderful is a good word to describe the food here. A good Pinot Grigio went well with our choices. The menu is large with many house originals, the prices are very reasonable, and the chef is very talented. Food is good and portions are large, my only complaint is that the girls behind the counter are uninviting and rude. Not a good thing since they are the first thing people see when they walk in. I called in my order and was made to feel that I was annoying her by doing so, rushed me off the phone and didn't even say thank you, or see you soon, or even goodbye, just hung up. Walked in to pick up my food, wasn't greeted, stood in front of the counter for a good amount of time with the girl right in front of me and just got ignored. Another girl came out and asked me what I needed.....rang me up, handed me a cc receipt to sign, placed it in front of me, and just walked away.....no thank you, no have a good day, no come again, no goodbye. Rude. I am in the customer service business and I would never treat a customer like that. It's really too bad because the food is great, but I'm totally turned off to this place now because of this. This location has a history of short lived businesses because of where it is located. The owners should think about teaching their girls a little manners if they want to thrive...

I have been to Edwardos with the family for lunch and dinner a few times and I have to say this place is awesome place to take your family and friends to enjoy Edwardos fabulous food that is prepared fresh each and every time you order food there and the quality and quantity that is served is above and beyond what you would be served at other restaurants. I have to say that the food is superb and the cook and staff go above and beyond to make you feel like family each and every time I have been there. I went to the restaurant on August 16th with my family for my moms 76th birthday and as usual the food was outstanding and Edwardo found out it was my moms birthday and surprised her with 2 outstanding desserts at no cost to us I highly recommend this place to everyone it’s a at home atmosphere with...
