Pricing is deceptive and makes no sense.
Was told that an egg and cheese costs $2.99. I ordered a ham egg and cheese, and was told the price is $7.27.
Their excuses made no sense and it was clear they are running a deceptive scam. I have tried many times to presume they are working honestly and talk through the pricing, and I presumed they were working honestly.
They first claimed that it was because I ordered a 2-egg sandwich and they include 1 egg in their sandwiches (that never happened, I just ordered the only egg sandwich option listed on the menu). This is already ludicrous, but their extra egg costs 0.75 cents. Ham costs an additional $1.25. So, the price for the sandwich should have been at most $4.99.
When I brought this up, the guy claimed that $2.99 + 0.75 + 1.25 equaled $7.27. So, I presumed he was being honest and I brought out a calculator to show him he still over two dollars off.
He then made a bunch of excuses about "inflation" and "egg prices" and "supply chain" and it became clear he was just running a scam, illegally displaying one price and...
Read moreProbably the worst deli to exist. I say this because of the ownership. One day I walked in to buy some water. Lazy as I was, I stopped in here to grab a few cases. When I dropped two cases by the register, and asked how much, I was met with a pleasant $72. I get that this place isn't a wholesaler by any means, but come on guy. I told him my thoughts on this, as well as the fact that I could buy a case of water for $3 at Acme only a few miles away. I offered to pay $15 for both cases, out of pure lasiness. He declined and said I was lowballing him. I proceeded to Acme, and found cases were indeed selling for $3/case. I was able to purchase 5 cases for what I offered him on two cases. I get that business models may be different across different businesses, but hey, of you really are in the business to make money, if it's a guaranteed profit, and it's obtained with minimal effort and risk, make it. The place seems permanently dirty as well. This is a...
Read moreMahopac Deli is a place that you can't seem to avoid. The owner Dipak has created an old school neighborhood deli that always has a way of becoming one of the best parts of your day. You go in for a sandwich and you leave with a smile or more likely with a chuckle. It's more than a deli. For me, its that unintended break from my always hectic job!
And no one listen to Chris Stanley. I'm the credit card processor and I would love for Chris to provide proof to his claim. Just the fact your actually saying Dipak actively stole your information without even knowledge of what your talking about! Why would Dipak who worked so hard to become successful steal credit card information that would end his dream. You my friend are way...
