Corneille Caribbean Kitchen — Restaurant in Town of Cheektowaga

My first and only visit to this restaurant was a truly novel experience. I chose this place because my favorite take out Caribbean restaurant appears to have, at least hopefully, temporarily closed. I called ahead to place my order and was told that the food would be ready 15 mins after I arrived and had paid for my order (1st red flag). When I arrived there was rap music blaring at an uncomfortable decibel level (2nd red flag) and I had to reorder what I wanted and was told it would take 15 mins. I went back to my car to escape the cacophony of sound and I returned in 15 mins only to be told it would take another 5 mins (a 3rd red flag) and it was actually closer to 10-12 mins, during which time my ears were tortured by the extremely loud music and expletives that I won’t share here. Once I got my food I did complain to the server about the loud and inappropriate nature of the music at which point she advised that her boss had directed that the music be played in that manner. I asked that she convey my complaints to her boss and she said I could tell him myself as he was located in a black pick up truck with dark tinted windows parked in front of the restaurant. I chose instead to take my food and retreat. The food actually wasn’t bad, it could have been a little spicier but was pretty decent but the atmosphere...

They are very bias. I sent my man in there the other day to get my food. The food was prepared properly with sauce.I’ve been going here for a few months now whenever I go in there by myself, my food is not prepared correctly. It’s not seasoned grilled and I don’t get any sauce. The rice is always dry. I’ve said a few guys in here in the Rice was not dry and they put more meat on there. If you are a woman do not go in there by yourself without your Dude They will rob you for your hard earned money. Trust me go with your dude or any dude or you won’t get what you paid for by yourself if you are a woman.They do not treat women right they are bias and prejudice against women which is illegal in United States. My family and I were hungry and we looked up some restaurants near by to get something to eat. Before I went into the restaurant I read the reviews and they were pretty good. We placed 4 orders. 2 beef gritos, 1 pork grito, fried fish and a mango smoothie. We sat there and waited a whole hour for our order. Total waste of time and money. The portions of meat were so small. Grito was under cooked. Looked more like lil bites of meat you'd prepare for a toddler. Fried plantains were soggy. The Pikliz smelled as if it was spoiled. To be honest, I don't know what that was but it wasn't pikliz. The bag that contained the food smelled RAW!!. The damn "mango smoothie" was watered down. My boyfriend said it tasted like "powder". He didn't even drink it we ended up pouring it down the drain. My mother was so disgusted by the look of the food alone. She didn't even eat the meal I purchased for her. Save your money.
