Traditional Polish Comfort Food with Great Service Review: On a business trip in Buffalo, I was looking for something unique and stumbled upon Polish Villa, a traditional Polish mom-and-pop spot. The restaurant isn’t flashy, but it was bustling with locals even on a Thursday night, which felt like a good sign. The server was friendly and helpful, offering suggestions for a first-timer like me. I went with her recommendation, the Polish platter, which included a hearty spread: one golabek, one kielbasa with onions and sauerkraut, two pierogi, a potato pancake, and a bowl of soup. The soup was a nice surprise—different but delicious. The meal came out simply plated, not fancy, but everything tasted fresh and comforting. The pierogi were my favorite, and the kielbasa was flavorful. The golabek was good, though I wasn’t a huge fan of their sauce. Overall, it was a solid, authentic Polish meal with attentive service. A good spot to try traditional dishes, though I probably wouldn’t go back again.

I ordered out polish food for the first time in years seeing my family is 100% polish and usually make our own. But I was craving a small polish fest so I ordered one from polish villa remembering it was good, authentic, and fairly priced. Knowing how tedious and lengthy the process it is to make glumpki and pierogi I was ok on the price. That was until I got home to open my food and found a sad tiny piece of dilapidated fresh polish sausage, and a half full soup cup. Talk about medium sized glumpki at best for $9 each. If your gonna charge this much I expected full portions. That was the first disappointing encounter. After starting to eat it I can’t help but think how basic and underwhelming the flavors are. I was so excited for my authentic Polish dinner for $35 and I wish I Just didn’t. They need a babcia to help them get back to good food again. Was so happy ordering and then so dissatisfied I barely got halfway through it where I just Decided to made some chicken nuggets. nie dobrze

We were in Buffalo for the weekend and knew we had to get Polish food, and the Polish Villa turned out to be the perfect place to do so! We went for lunch on Saturday and there was plenty of seating. We ordered a pierogi plate and a breaded pork chop plate. The re are three pierogi options: cheese, sauerkraut, and meat for an additional $0.35 charge We got the sauerkraut pierogi, which was tangy and tasty, but the meat pierogi was truly the star of that dish. It was served with a mushroom sauce that complimented the comfortable savory flavor of the meat filling. The breaded pork chop was almost fork-tender and had a pleasant savory flavor. Both plates came with a vegetable and potato option. We opted for the potato pancakes. I wholeheartedly recommend getting the sweet and sour cabbage as your vegetable option, since it goes well with everything! We didn't quite have room for dessert 😅

I don't normally leave detailed reviews but we came here whilst visiting the area for the first time and we're Polish, so why not, right? Ratings are high, we were hungry.

We ended up waiting in the doorway for about 40 minutes with a few others ahead of us, and a few behind us questioned if they had to go put their names in on the waitlist. The hostess kiosk is the furthest thing from the door and from that vantage point you really can't see the line of people waiting to be sat. Not a really efficient way of doing things, but she came around after dropping off drinks for tables that were within eyesight of the door.

We could see the four empty tables waiting to be filled, and a couple of the people behind us knew just from that fact who was working.

I will give that it was a Friday afternoon and they had an ongoing special on fish fry, but there were no overbearing fried or fishy smells even when a waitress walked by with two giant plates in hand -

We got our drinks fairly quickly once we were sat and our waitress was absolutely pleasant. Ordered the appetizer pierogis [which are like the size of a fist each! wow!] because by the time we were sat we were fairly close to reaching our "check in" time at our hotel and we had plans to meet up with friends, so we didn't have time by then to enjoy a full lunch option. These were a fantastic choice and we ordered one of each - cheese, the potato, the sauerkraut [one of us had the meat option with mushroom gravy as well and that one was 'real good' as she would put it]. We'd asked for the check to be delivered at the same time because of our constraints and this was accommodated as well.

One last thing I have to mention, and I can't believe this is what I will probably remember the most from this visit, is that the moment we stepped into the building, an older patron sitting at a table within eyesight of the door basically gave me the stink eye for the entire time we had been waiting for a table. I'm not sure how I offended her but even after sitting across the room at our own lunch table, she continued to swivel her head in my direction and just give this terrible look of disdain. I asked the person I had been eating with to see if she had still been staring and she'd given us the once-over a final time before exiting the building at the end of her meal....

I was very upset because the restaurant added 20% gratuity to my bill without my consent , I would never go to a restaurant if they tell me how to spend my money which is totally ridiculous ! And then they lied to us as they told us the Christmas dinner was $22 and then they charged us $22.99 , also half the dishes were cold and also it was very cold in the restaurant and when I asked the girl why is the air conditioning on when it's winter outside and it's freezing in here she said well I'm hot because I'm working so you just have to deal with it , used to be a decent but now they don't cater to the customer they just cater to themselves and their own comfort and they nickel and dime you by adding prices on your bill that were not negotiated , such a shame as they lost our business ! When I complain to the cashier she said we do that all the time and I told her they should let people know prior to trying to rip you off and dictate what you have to leave for a tip so with that in hand we will never return ! Also don't tell you one price on the phone and then when you get the bill the price is higher ! And several of us had called prior and we were all told one price and all our prices were higher so it was not just us and our bill it was everyone's from what other people told us , went from a decent restaurant to...

My family made a reservation for 20 for my daughter's first birthday. We called twice the week prior to confirm. The reservation was supposed to include some of Polish Villa's catering menu, prepared family style (so there wouldn't be individual ordering, the restaurant would simply prepare a variety of things for everyone to share).

Sadly, while the staff was nice, they were wholly unprepared for our group; they did not even realize there was a large group coming in. Thankfully, we arrived early so they were able to get set up, but this also meant they did not have any family style food prepared for our large group. This made things much more complicated, as you might imagine for twenty people (including small children) ordering food while arriving at different times, but then the food we did order took over an hour to arrive. There were some people who ordered their food first but somehow got their food last (nearly two hours later).

Regardless, we did not make a fuss at the establishment, and we tried to make the most of the situation, but I was wholly disappointed in the experience, even before I saw the automatic 20% tip the servers gave themselves. I will not be planning any further events here, and it's not because they sing a different version of Polish...
