Paisanos Pizza (New City) — Restaurant in Town of Clarkstown

An objective review for an online/pick up order: My usual pizza place went on vacation this week so I thought I'd try someplace new. Paisanos was close and new so I gave it a shot.

I ordered through the SLICE app and special considerations like "well done crust," "lite on garlic butter/oil" for the garlic bread, and "no broccoli, just plain white pie" for their white pie with broccoli were met (on a side note i'm not sure why they just don't offer a plain white pie?).

I browsed through their pictures and saw their pies looked extra greasy/oily but was happy to find upon eating them, that they aren't. (hold a slice up, very very minimal grease drips if any) I ordered a specialty white pie with broccoli (minus the broccoli), a plain cheesy pie, extra cheesy pie, mozzarella sticks, and garlic bread. There looked to be no difference between my plain cheese pie and my extra cheese pie(that i did pay extra for). Upon tasting them, it appears it wasn't extra cheesy at all. The white pie was good but both the ricotta and the mozzarella tasted very generic (think Polly-o vs Great Value). On our cheese pies they added either oregano to the pies after the fact or it might have been incorporated into their sauce. As a result their cheese pies have a VERY heavy oregano flavor (for anyone who doesn't like oregano you may want to call ahead and request they not add it). Of the people in my party who had the cheese pies, they agree they tasted "very salty." The marinara sauce that came with the mozzarella sticks was SO DELICIOUS and flavorful! The tomato in the marinara spoke for itself without needing the usual Italian Seasonings to spruce it up. They should consider using that for their pizza sauce. Their mozzarella sticks came in a pack of 6, were THICK, and about 2.5 inches in length. They had more of a beer batter crust on them than breadcrumb crust which was delicious in its own right, but the cheese once again tasted generic. The garlic bread was about 10-12 inches long and was very soft. They honored the request for "lite on garlic butter/oil" so the inside wasn't soaked but was instead a nice light coat making it perfect. The garlic looked freshly chopped. Before I placed my order I had called to ask if they sell garlic knots as I didn't see it on the app. The woman was very nice and informed us they only make garlic knots on Fridays.

The pictures attached were taken AFTER we ate. 2 slices are from the large regular cheese pie, 2 slices are from the large extra cheese pie. We see and tasted no difference. Stopped at 3 places and they were either closed or done serving.

Stopped by this pizza restaurant Paisanos Pizza and walked in, they were clearly wrapping it all up.

Chair up, floor being washed and cleaning the ovens.

I asked them if they were still serving, they said no but asked what I wanted them to make? It was 9:45 PM already

I asked for grilled chicken salad and a slice.

You got it sir they said, couldn’t be nicer about it either!

Not just that they made me my salad they also sent me home with a bunch of different slices and didn’t charge for it because they were going to throw it anyway.

Beside the amazing service and kindness which was very much appreciated the pizza was delicious!!!

Went in on opening day after seeing post about it on Instagram. My coworkers and I ordered food to eat in and when we looked for a table, they were ALL DIRTY. 2 were occupied and 3 were a mess. We wiped one down and sat down to eat. During the 25-30 minutes we were there NOT A SINGLE TABLE WAS CLEANED. Worse, out of the 8 employees I counted, ONLY 1 was wearing their mask properly. Even the guy turning pizzas had his mask over his chin, covering nothing else. The other had their noses and upper lips hanging out. We’re still in a PANDEMIC for crying out loud.

Lastly, there was no ranch on my Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza.

Probably won’t be going back but the place has good potential if they keep up on cleanliness...
