If I could give this place no stars I would. My husband and I decided to do a lunch date and we were very disappointed! He had read about this place in an article and thought why not try something new. First impression upon walking in, it's small but has a nice modern look. We found a booth next to the window and sat down. We were seated for almost twenty minutes with no one even acknowledging our existence. Both the bartender working and the one waitress I saw, continued to help other customers and walk back into the little room behind the bar, with not so much as a word or look in our direction. I finally stood up and went to the bar to ask for menus where I continued to stand for an extended period of time before being acknowledged. I even had time to chat for a moment with another customer who had come in after my husband and I, who had also already been helped. He joked he would have brought us his menus. Keep in mind this place is small and there were probably 3 couples at the bar and 3 tables of people, so not many people in the place at all and certianly not enough for us to be invisible or ignored! When I asked the bartender if I could see a menu, she seemed annoyed by my question and offered no apology for the length of time we had sat with no acknowledgement whatsoever. Needless to say we did not stay and we will never visit again. I have worked in food service and have not once in my life walked into an establishment as a paying customer and felt completely invisible. Congratulations, Eagle Tavern you certainly did that and I will not be recommending you to...
Read moreWent in there with my fiance after a long day of wine tasting by cazenovia, stopping at the dmv, shopping, etc. he was given a paper ID in which you can only obtain from a dmv with birth certificate and social security card. All a bar should ever need is proof of 21 or over… We are both 23. The documents are more than enough a picture is not needed but is an added bonus for you! By nys LAW it is required to show PROOF OF AGE no picture is needed if it is a viable and legal document. Showed my DL ID which has a crack in it because it got folded in my pocket back when I was working at Chrysler as a tech. Went to the fair with it taped up and had no issues being served alcohol. I later lost it at the fair the 3rd day we went and was later returned it by the police department with NO issues; I was denied bc there’s a film over it. If you weren’t drunk or just oblivious you’d see it’s tape…My point for leaving this review wasn’t because I was just denied alcohol but bc you were clearly lazy and clearly jealous, the attitude when him and I first came in to when we left is nasty. I build myself and people off respect. That was the most egotistical and narcissistic way of handling people. It’s sad you let emotions get in the way of your paychecks. Scan both of those ID’s they are valid. I’ve always been a good tipper. But clearly it’s high strung with no air to breathe down there. Anyways I said screw it and stopped next door to grab the wine I usually get. No problem there...
Read moreThe one thing I can say is that the service was great, atmosphere was just kinda your typical bar fare, not too many seating areas if you're not here to drink really. But the food and soft drinks, something was off.... The french fries I ordered (which btw is a $3 or so upcharge to add to a meal that already costs almost like $17) tasted freezer burnt like every bite you could taste like they were old or something was funky about them. The bbq burger I got was good but something tasted off with the burger I cant put my finger on it. The buffalo chicken wing dip was decent but extraordinarily salty, and the pita fresh fried pita chips that came with it were like oil sponges all you could taste was the oil they were fried in the entire time. Again, the staff was super nice, the atmosphere was okay, the food was just pretty bad. I felt really sick right after leaving. I can't in good faith recommend this for a casual dine, maybe for a few drinks but the food was baaadddd
EDIT: I do in fact think I got food poisoning. Would rate negative stars...
