All in the Family Pizzeria — Restaurant in Town of Colonie

Slight edit to mycomments, below. This has just become one of my TOP 5 Pizzerias in the Capital Region. Was looking for a real Italian NY slice. My job sometimes brings me up to the Wolf Rd area and this place is just a short hop from there (and the pizza around Wolf Rd, for the most part, is mediocre at best).

Had three slices, bottom crust was crisp & they get the dough right, was about perfectly crispy & chewy, and NOT like the "spongey upstate pizza" (my term!) that I see too much of in our region. One of my slices was their specialty Meatball Parm pizza - this was remarkable, the meatballs were fabulous, the pie was cooked perfectly, nicely topped. I'll plan to bring a pie home in the near future.

Change - edited comment: I originally noted & thought their special pizza slices were perhaps underpriced a bit. After another visit, I realized that all of their counter slices are on a 16" pie, not an 18", so the prices are probably just about right. Tried a white veggie slice this time and the taste was exquisite, nice garlic flavor and roasted veggie pop. Again, outstanding quality of the slices.*

The staff (owners?) were super friendly, very service oriented. It really felt like they loved doing what they do and put a lot of love into their cooking. I'm looking forward to trying other menu items when nearby at work again. Though I'm not far, I do wish I lived a...

All in the Family is an unassuming pizza shop that has a small shop feel to it. There wasn’t much by way of a menu, but there were a several pies by the slice to choose from (2 veggie, 2 chicken, cheese, and pepperoni) and lots of tasty looking cupcakes. I got a slice of veggie which had spinach, broccoli and tomato with what seemed like an olive oil base. The slice surpassed my expectations! The dough was a perfect New York style thin with a little crispiness and chewiness once you got to the crust and blistered just right. It wasn’t soggy at all, which I was impressed with, given all the water that usually seeps out from veggie toppings. Using an oil base was a good choice on that front. It was awesome not to look further than Mariahville Rd. We initially ordered through Slice, but after seeing deals on the website We seamlessly cancelled the slice order and went straight through the source. Our food was on time but not as hot as we prefer. It tasted great though. The pizza was well portioned and cooked perfect. The wings could have used more sauce but were cooked perfect. A little more seasoning would have went a long way but it's all good. My only real issue was that I didn't get Bleu cheese and celery for 30 wings. We will definitely order again and hopefully not have the small things effect...
