We tried to eat lunch on a Monday at 11:15. 2 in our group were there and two were on the way. There was nobody seated in the restaurant as it just opened at 11am. It was hot out and we wanted to be seated at our table. The friendly hostess told us that since we did not have more than 50% of our party there that we could not be seated and that was restaurant policy. We looked at each other and at the large dining room where no one was seated. We pointed out that there was no one in the restaurant and that we wouldn’t be preventing anyone else from getting a table. Monday at 11:15. We couldn’t believe we wouldn’t be seated. We told her that we would not be waiting outside in the heat and instead would go to another restaurant. In the parking lot we called to speak with the manager. She also explained that that is the policy. We told her that we understand that policy when the restaurant is busy. But it was empty. Monday at 11:15. She did not appologize and was very curt with us and said well we can’t break that policy because then we, as customers, would expect that on a busy night. We said no we wouldn’t. We said your policy makes room for no common sense. She said nope our policy IS common sense. This was the manager! We told her well you just lost business today and we will never come here again. We went around the corner to D’Raymonds to spend the $100. They weren’t even open yet and they sat us! And there were 4 other tables seated! Truly bad customer service at Lanie’s. We told our story to the waitress at D’Raymond’s and she said the same thing happened to them and they also refuse to go there ever again! I wonder how many other customers they have lost by not sitting people when the restaurant is empty and they won’t sit people. I was looking forward to trying Lanie’s, but will never go...
Read moreMy party was told there were no reservations for a party of 6. I confirmed bathroom was wheelchair freindly. Decided to try going there without a reservation. Arrived amd the place was so loud! We were told by the hostest that it be a short wait for a table. As one of our party was in a wheelchair and the other needs a walker, we had to wait up at the bar area which had a significant ramp slope, because their was no room anywhere else to wait. After about 10 minutes of shouting at each other just so the person next to you can hear what your saying the hostest came up to us and told us the table we were waiting for was actually reserved, so we get to wait another 30 minutes, likely more. We left for a more normal atmosphere instead of a yell feast atmosphere.
I have eaten at Lanie's before, but just for lunch. Food is mid. Surely lots of better food elsewhere (within walking distance/same plaza. I wish I could of got reservations at the other restaurant so I would have had an enjoyable dining experience. Unfortunately the good restaurant require reservations and they were all booked up because that restaurant is fantastic).
If you want to wait around for so, so over priced food, Lanie's is the place to go. Or if you like to shout at your family just so they can hear you, you can't find a better place. Its ratings are likely high because people are used to the location being a dive bar (Maddens/Long Horn), so it seems really good compared to dive bars that went out of business. Honestly, I'm glad we didn't eat there as it atmosphere was horrid for a...
Read moreAfter patronizing this establishment since it opened it’s abundantly clear this establishment has gone way downhill. First impression was with the snippy “hostess” who behaved curtly to incoming patrons. When my 91 year old Dad and I were served our 10oz filet mignon, super salty on both sides and tough, my dad had severe hiccups, which upset his stomach, so I needed water right away. I kept looking for the server and she was nowhere to be found. So I told the “hostess” I needed water for my Dad immediately. So she goes searching for the server and disappears too. My Dad was in a lot of distress and still no water. Seriously. Just needed water! The server comes with water finally and gives the water to the table next to us. She looks at me and I said where’s our water? She said “oh that was for you? The “hostess” gave me the wrong table number. She doesn’t know”. Meanwhile my dad was becoming more ill and we needed to get out of there. So the server comes back and leaves the check and walks away. I cannot wait for her cause my dad was getting sicker so I go to the desk and give them my credit card and she cannot run it because the server has to. So now we have to wait longer?! I take my dad and get him outside and in the car and come back. I wanted to talk to the manager briefly but then he was MIA, and I had to get my dad home. We only had a couple bites of the steak. Never going back there again. Now I know why it wasn’t as busy as it used to be. That was a most colossal waste of 92.00 ever....
