We had lunch here with our friend when she came to Albany Tue 3/21/21. Opressively hot, humid day. Our first choice had a 90 minute wait so we took the 3 minute ride to Swifty's. Hadn't been here since pre-pandemic. Should have come here first. Busy but we were seated immediately. This is a large place with a big bar and indoor & ourdoor dining rooms. Our server, Maureen C. is a veteran wait person who has served us many times in the past at other restaurants. She brought our drinks quickly - iced tea, soda, & a Bloody Maria (w/ tequila)) $8. We had The Dubliner-Roasted turkey topped with tomatoes, melted Swiss cheese and Applewood smoked bacon. Served with mayo on a toasted ciabatta roll. ($13) - very good. But the accompanying mac salad was tasteless. A BLT wrap-Fresh lettuce, tomato and Applewood smoked bacon with mayo and choice of *toasted bread ($12) *ordered as wrap, came on toated white bread. Served w/ cole slaw which was meh. But was very good. And a broiled haddock *sandwich ($12)-ordered no roll, came w/roll. and a side salad ($2) -very good. Service was top shelf from Maureen C. Communication to kitchen staff missed the mark. Good sandwiches, blah sides. Easily correctable to improve this grade to very good or excellent on our next visit. Swifty's offers 18 apps, 2 soups, pizza, 6 big lunch/dinners salads, 13 sandwiches, & 9 wraps, 10 burgers, & 7 entrees. All at a very good price. Two other locations in nearby Delmar & in Utica, NY Hours: Mon-Thu: 11:30 AM - 9:00PM Fri-Sat: 11:30 AM - 10:00PM Sun: 12:00 PM - 9:00 PM
An overall good lunch. We will visit again soon. Thank you. Nick, Liz, &...
Read moreI used to love Swifty's. Their veggie burger is borderline untouchable. That said, this is more of a complaint against service rather than their food. My fiancee and I came here for our first date night since having our baby 9 months ago. The hostess didn't really greet us and acted like she had no interest in being there. I get it, it's Sunday night and the bar was full of loud, drunk people. We get seated, wait about 15 minutes before a waitress comes and asks what we'd like to drink. To start, I would have liked a water fifteen minutes ago, but I digress. My fiancee ordered a porter. The waitress made a few passes before finally bringing us a drink fifteen minutes later. The drink, however, was an ale from the same brewery. The completely wrong drink. The waitress brings back to the bar, finally returning (again, about fifteen minutes later), saying that the drink was out. Is that on the bar or the waitress? She was probably 19 or 20 and didn't seem to know much about beer. I put that on the bar. So, 45 minutes went by and we learned that we were dealing with the C Team. We decided to just leave and go to Crave. Sad to see a good place like this...
Read moreThey take my name, a new person, clearly. Then we miss getting a table because someone else called out name but it was busy so we waited in vestibule, no one checked. There were other people in vestibule someone came and got them. I go in and manager helps fix the situation. Ok. I’m still thinking it will be good. 3 of us all get burgers. The waitstaff member with the 1960’s wire frame was so underperforming her job, she forgot that a tip was involved. Didn’t listen, burger was rare. The kind of rare that is dark pink, raw. I asked for tots on side, got none, burger flavor-less. Egg gelatinous. Cooks are terrible there. But the kicker was the rudeness in which when told of empty ketchup, just put it back down on the table, after I tried to had it to her. There was a food runner, she was totally worth her pay. Our waitress, not so much. No thank you, and no need for a meaningless sorry, clearly it’s the sorry, not sorry situation. Plenty of other places to go, no...
