The Little Oak - Neighborhood Bistro & Bakery — Restaurant in Town of Conklin

The Little Oak is exactly what I want from a local family restaurant - a casual environment, friendly staff, and delicious food at good prices.

Our waitress was efficient and so friendly and welcoming. She really did make us feel at home and we never felt rushed even though the restaurant was very busy.

The food is fresh and clearly homemade, and the portions are great. The reuben and chicken salad-bacon wrap were both jam-packed with meat (as well as being perfectly seasoned and cooked.) The caprese sandwich and spanakopita were excellent as well. The french fries are the battered kind and were very flavorful and crispy. And don't miss the cakes! We tried the chocolate peanut butter cake and apple cheesecake and both were fantastic.

I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap, which on its own was amazing and if it was just that that was ordered, I’d give 5 stars. Unfortunately, that is not the case for my family. We ordered my daughter the kids breakfast. Which was old the only fresh thing was the egg. The home fries were so hard, along with the toast. My fiancé ordered the meatloaf platter with mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes came out ice cold and the meat loaf looked like it was sitting for a while. When the server was told she was quick to get it “fixed” but it seemed that the plate was just put into a microwave.. the waitress was very understanding and took the meal off of our bill, so we didn’t end up paying for it. The Little Oak staff are amazing! Maria is so approachable and always willing to go the extra mile. We get lunch order almost daily, but on many occasions, we utilize the catering menu as well. Maria has a number of great options that serve a large # and my employees and guests are always happy with the selections we provide. Their mac-and-cheese is a legend here, it's loved by all.
