Went on a whim and it was OK - not great, but good overall. Salad bar was a classic supper club fare and really enjoyed the throw-back feel. The soups were good, salad and toppings fresh.
The scallops did not taste right. The sauce had an off putting bite that I just couldn't get past. When I let the server know the manager came out and said that it's the green onions in the sauce. I personally love green onions and that was not what I was tasting. It was just bitter and when I asked if I could get them without the sauce it was a hard no which makes me believe they come in the sauce and they just warm them up. (Also, if you have that many complaints about a sauce, why would you keep serving it?) Portion size was nice overall.
The shrimp were not jumbo. (That was my replacement since the scallops came as-is.) The menu (and prices say jumbo shrimp but they were a normal size (like 30ct -- but when someone says jumbo I expect 15-20ct if not larger). However, the coating on the shrimp was delicious and they were cooked well.
The prime rib (the main reason we went) was ordered medium but served rare. It wasn't just rare, it was still cold. (You can see in the picture the original cut in the background of the second plate that came out.) The replacement that came out (after an eye roll from the manager) was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. We didn't order any extra seasonings and the rub they had on the outside was perfect as is.
Our server was clearly new to his job, but he did a great job even with the language barrier and was very nice and helpful. I do feel for the manager who was filling in for a server that didn't show (and made a point of loudly telling everyone about it) but at the same time that is the job and it doesn't give her a pass to swear under her breath about customers when she thinks no one is listening -- I can only imagine what she said about us since we sent two of our four meals back for replacements.
Honestly, if we ever went back it would be because of our server -- he really was a nice guy and did a good job -- and to sit on the back deck and sip a flight of old fashions (they have a large selection). The outdoor seating was fantastic. The deck overlooks some pretty scenery and it was nice and...
Read moreFood was really good! Excellent salad bar! It took 15 minutes to be seated on a Saturday night. After we ordered our food about 30 minutes after arriving, we had to wait 90 minutes to get it! We arrived at 830pm and a few minutes before 10p we finally received our food! Our 3 boys end up being tired and wanting to leave and not eat because it got so late waiting for our food. We finally did get it and they ate about half of their meals B4 getting crabby! I had a 6oz steak with vegetables, wife had half a rack ribs and the kids cheeseburger and fries. Wife had 1 drink we each had a sprite to drink and the bill was $115.. Pretty expensive for what we got and the wait for the food was extreme, the longest I've ever had to wait for the food after ordering In my 42 years on earth! To make matters worse the waitress never checked on us after taking our order.. She did check on us twice after she finally brought us our order though.. If you don't mind the extremely long wait to get your food after ordering and paying $50 more for the meal then we have paid at any other place for a similar meal then it might be worth the wait because the food was pretty good. My wife and kids that tried her half rack of ribs didn't care for the bbq sauce though, but the meat itself was good. Maybe if they used sweet baby Ray's bbq sauce they most likely would have been to for for ..
So expect to pay quite a bit more for your meal and having to wait a real long time for your dinner after ordering it if you go here, but if you do the food will not disappoint! Even though the bbq sauce wasn't all that good, they got everything else perfect! I might go there again in the future but if I end up waiting for the food 90 minutes again I won't...
Read moreThe ABSOLUTE WORST service EVER!!!! I went with my family with high expectations per the reviews. My husband ordered the NY strip, medium well. I ordered the top prime, medium with the dill rub and bleu cheese. His steak was given to him medium rare, not medium well. Mine was served bacon wrapped, no dill and no bleu cheese. We politely asked they be corrected. His was returned, after the entire plate being thrown into an oven, with a dried out twice baked potato and his steak only cooked on the ends and still medium rare in the middle. My steak was brought back to me STILL wrapped in bacon which I didn't order, still no dill and well done! The waiter took it back to the kitchen, which was right behind where we were seated, where I observed him and two other gentlemen having a conversation. Shortly thereafter a man, whom I later found out was the owner, exited the kitchen with my plate, leaned in front of me and stated, "what's the problem?!" I again politely explained what all happened. He began arguing with me about what I had ordered, even though he wasn't present for my order or the initially returned steak. He proceeded to argue with me about the over cooked steak stating that he had been cooking for 45 years and I was wrong. Finally he said in a domineering, rude, obnoxious tone, "Well what do you want?!" There were zero apologies for the unorded bacon, lack of dill and bleu cheese or over-cooked steak. Same for my husbands undercooked steak. I fully respect that sometimes there's just a mistake in an order or an oversight but this was completely different. I have NEVER in my LIFE been talked to so incredibly disrespectfully and accusatory. If I could give zero stars I would....
