The ONLY thing this place has going for it, is that it is on the water. It was, by far, the worst experience I've have ever had at a restaurant. It was late Sat. afternoon & busy. Understandable if service was slow, however, our server, Candy, was the ONLY positive. The entire vibe while we waited for a table outside to be cleaned was a downer. The hostess didn't smile and a server came up to her while we were waiting & asked to to wipe a where she had just seated a couple. The server was visibly stressed & looked like this was the last place she wanted to be. After our experience, I know why. When we were taken outside to our table, the stench of the stagnant water under the deck we were sitting on was quite bad. Multiple tables were un-bussed, one of which was never cleaned during out entire stay. When we were first seated, I asked the other members of my group if they wanted to leave. They were starved & unfortunately, we decided to stay. Food was pretty bad. My apple pecan salad was the highlight, once they brought my dressing. Another's wings were ok. The buffalo mac & cheese had set under the heat lamps for far too long...crusty glob of cheese on top, not much noticeable chicken. Another 1/2 southwestern salad was missing the avocado. Needless to say, after adding 3 draft beers, the $75 tab was the worst $$ I have spent in a very long time. Do yourself a favor. Grab food elsewhere. The place sucked. UPDATE OCT 2, 2017..... It got worse...my CC was charged an additional $15. Apparently the cash tip we left wasn't sufficient. Glad I checked my charges. Called & GM refunded the $15 after pulling the charge & seeing there wasn't a tip written in on the slip. " Don't know how that happened." Get a clue, lady... I take back my original comment on...
Read moreFood is basic and bland mostly. Every time I have been there they always seem to be under staffed and chaotic. It's hardly relaxing and food takes quite awhile to receive. Ownership are truly the slumlords of owning a business and clearly cheap. Will never eat here again or suggest it to anyone. It actually is sad bc it's such a beautiful spot if they only maintained it well. That's what happens though when you don't treat Staff well or have decent food. There's always an issue there too everytime w the bill or something missing out of our order. That's why we just quit going. This is an easy fix if they actually cared about their staff enough to truly turn it around. You can't fix cheap and cutting corners and you can't have a great business with owners that clearly aren't even good at their jobs but expect their staff to be?? I will never understand why people choose to run a business this way. It's very old school and sad bc it's a beautiful building and truly a simple fix. Most staff were kind but truly not trained well. I don't blame anyone other than the top for this. It's mostly kids and some adults. Typical for a restaurant. Just very hard to understand how they aren't trained well for the job they're doing. It's pretty simple really. Just disappointed in the entire experience there but not surprised considering what people around the town say about it. I wanted to love it truly....
Read moreWe asked what they're known for / what's good on the menu. The server (who was great) told us the wings. So we said what the heck, let's get some wings. In order to try multiple flavors you have to order the 15 wing sampler. I felt like that would be too much food for one person, but figured we could pass wings around to try. So another person did the same thing. When the food arrived it became clear that my fear was misplaced. The pidgeon sized wings, 15 of them, didn't even cover the plate. Then we noticed that between the two samplers there was different wing sauce on the wings. We asked the server what they were and the kitchen told her that they were the same. They weren't. Moreover, one of the wings had several feathers still attached to it. Cluck cluck! So the server sends over the manager who offers us more wings and refuses to comp the plate. A+ customer service there. Basically what you need to know about this place is that the menu is the same as Wing City Grille in Fredonia NY (same owner) but the price of just about everything is doubled. Five people ate lunch and had a couple drinks for $230..... oh and that's not counting the two shots of Jack Fire. They came in little plastic jello shot cups and were $7 each. ...
