Used to come here all the time. It's decent. Really like their chicken finger sub. Unfortunately when we were there 4 days ago the table we were seated at had grease smudges & globs on it. I asked the hostess if she could wipe it down. She came over and wiped it with a crazy soaked rag, as well as the seat (but only one seat on the booth). I saw that the grease glob was still there but now smudged as she began walking away so I asked if she could wipe it a bit better. After wiping the table again with a little more oomph she walked away and simply went back to the hostess stand, leaving a soaking wet table as well as one side of the booth seat. Who wants to sit at a soaked table and wait for it to air dry for 10 minutes?? This was A LOT of water. I went over and asked if we could have napkins to wipe down the now very wet table. She handed me two. I asked for more citing that wasn't going to be nearly enough to dry it. I ended up using a total of 10 to dry the table and booth seat completely.
I'm disturbed that this young gal didn't bother to offer to clean the table herself completely, the correct way, from the start. Also confusing is that she simply gave us the napkins to dry our own table! Pretty darn rude. Our server was awesome and very attentive.
They have some work to do with these hostesses though... and clean your friggin restaurant, the floor was riddled with food particles everywhere, being seated at a dirty table simply added to this feeling...
Read moreHeading home from short vacation, looking for a family-style restaurant for dinner. Passed many chain restaurants until finally spotting this nice looking place with many cars in their lot - Alton's Restaurant. We were immediately greeted by a friendly hostess who led us to the outdoor seating area (our choice). The restaurant was busy, being a Friday, and there was plenty of staff working briskly to handle the customers' needs.
Our server, Teddi, was fantastic! Though she was very busy handling multiple tables, she took the time to answer all of our questions, fully met all of our needs, and did it all with a very pleasant smile on her face.
The menu had many selections and options. My wife and I shared the calamari appetizer and we each selected the fish fry entree which came with potato, coleslaw, and macaroni salad. Every bite was delicious. At many other places, items like coleslaw and mac salad can be bland and boring; not here! Each had a little something added that gave them a better flavor than you find at many restaurants.
We were so glad to have come across this restaurant after passing by all of the chain places and pubs. If find yourself in the Elma area I highly recommend...
Read moreNot crazy about the atmosphere but that's just me. I like cozy, comfy, slightly lower lighting. I'm taking care of people all day and wish to be far away from people when I want to go out to eat with a friend or few or family. The waitress asked my sister about the whole meal. Shdve asked myself and my father as well as to our choices. She always feels shes in charge. Very annoying. So she got no tip from me at the end of the meal... as she walked away as I was trying to tell her I wanted an item my sister said NO to. I've bee. a waitress and besides that fact you ask ALL the persons at the table. Don't be ignorant. I was trained with proper manners, proper way to address said patrons, which side bvb to pour all beverages, how often to come back to ask if other items wanted, and how not to be I your face tooooo often. I don't know who's training people these days but it's pretty slack...and they should dress as they used to. Neat, tidy, hair off face and off my plate. Even a casual restaurant should still require waiter and waitresses to dress properly. I'm appalled at the way...
