I went there two years ago, sat outside head one of the best meals of my life, at least in the top five. EXCELLENT STEAK .. THE SECOND TIME I WENT also, about two years ago, the Hostess did the " I can't see you " thing and walked right by me twice. So I sat down at an outside table, some guy came out ( semi confrontational.) Asked me what I needed. And I said ", waiting for my wife, and I would like a diet coke, " and he said, oh, the hostess didn't see you and I said " no, she saw me " the meal was EXCELLENT . WENT ABOUT A MONTH LATER, WITH MY WHOLE FAMILY -ADULTS . EXCELLENT SERVICE / EXCELLENT MEAL The 3rd time about a year ago I walked in and there was maybe 2 tables seated. The rest were empty and the hostess asked if I had reservations and I was surprised when I answered. Do we need them? It may have sounded flippant. It was not, she went into the kitchen, and after waiting for about four minutes, we just left. the piano player was waving to us in the parking lot. But it had a bad taste to my mouth. YESTERDAY I brought a friend. I owed a favor to there. We made reservations, we're told we needed them.We got there it was empty. the appetizers were great. a 9.5 the steak was tough and bland. about a 5 we didn't order dessert, but we ordered coffee. And then we're asked to leave our table, cause they needed it. So we just left our coffee sitting there and walked out. We were told we could finish at tge Bar. But I really didn't feel like doing that. It felt weird to spend $200 have reservations and be asked to leave when we had just ordered Coffee. i believe the chef is very talented, but he might be losing his desire to perform works of art. i don't think I will return. out of all the local restaurants, it's one of the better ones but I don't feel it's worth the money. i'd rather...
Read moreComically Subpar, only the piano player was worth our time. Clearly a money grab by the chef/owner.
Here is the play by play of our experience: Call for reservation 2 hours earlier, Chef says no tables until 7:45. We arrive to a parking lot with huge potholes, clearly unattended to. Parking is horrific.
Nice vibe walking in, but Chef tells us he took our reservation knowing there were no tables (seriously my guy? Pretty bold to admit that) I tell my date that I bet we have to wait for a whole table turn to sit, 45 minutes later I'm proven correct. No offer of a complimentary... Anything to make up for this.
Sit at bar while waiting to hear chef chastising his staff in the kitchen, mood of staff is scattered and frustrated. Clearly chef is a hot head and difficult to work for.
Piano player is WONDERFUL, only thing that kept me from walking out.
We sit and discover we must pay for bread 😂, we do and it's good.
Coconut shrimp appetizer is flavorless and coconut is over fried (very dark). Lobster chowder is decent.
I order another martini for the lady before our bottle of wine. (Was out of 4 different bottles on the menu I requested, not surprised). Waiter never brings the Martini.
I continue being polite to staff, but am angry at this price point and service level.
We order entree, porterhouse steak for 2, surprise surprise.... They haven't had that menu item for 1 year!! Excuse from waiter? It's expensive to reprint menus. What a cheap owner, my lord.
We get our entrees, (they took 2 menu steaks and put it on the porterhouse board to try and 'give us the experience' of the port house we wanted.
Steak is indeed, very good.
Overall, never seen a more scattered staff and cheaper owner/chef. Will never return.
Have worked at some of the finest restaurants in NYC, this...
Read moreLast night’s dinner was good steak was cooked just right. The 2 stars were because of issues with the drinks. My wife and I were just there in mid July and had the same experience. In July I ordered a cocktail (Vodka and soda) and it was fine. When I ordered my second drink the waitress asked, do you want the house vodka? I said yes assuming that’s what I got the first time. We’ll when the check came and I was charged $8 for one and $12 for the second. (Which was Tito’s, no big woop). So what I brought away from that experience is when you say house vodka they get to choose the more expensive one. So now last night wanting to enjoy myself I distinctly ordered the well vodka. I also asked the waiter does house mean well drinks or not ? I didn’t get a straight answer so I just reminded him to give me the well vodka. So now the check comes and I’m charged $12 for each drink, thinking it should of been $8. So I told the waiter, he said my bad and would fix it. He brought our check back and when I looked he had charged me $10 for and left the other at $12. We paid our $190 check and decided to be done with it.It’s the little things like this that ruin a good evening So how do I know if I’m going to pay $8 - 10 or $12. 12 bucks for vodka , why not have a price list. UPDATE:
I was contacted by the owner of End Cut to discuss my review. I was glad he called. He did seem to be more concerned about the customer than the review. I was not asked to remove or edit my review. and I do believe he listened to my explanation. I truly feel he’s about customer satisfaction and earned two more stars. Thanks End Cut we’ll...
