DiBello’s Deli and Bakery — Restaurant in Town of Evans

My family has been here several times, but the quality is decreased. Although some of the food (particularly subs) from this deli/bakery have been good, we’ve also received incorrect orders and burnt baked goods. Most disappointing is the poor ownership and being told that things would be rectified, only for the owner to turn around and deny that an offer was ever made. Perhaps a better establishment will replace them in the near future.

• Even the response from the owner was comical. When I reported the coffee cake issue, I learned that it wasn’t even baked in their restaurant and they had sourced out for it. It’s hard to say how many other items are not prepared in-house. Surely this goes against NYS standards for cleanliness and food safety. I’m quite particular as to what I eat and from where. My daughter and I were told that we would be given a couple of complimentary bakery items (which I’d have investigated further) for this terrible coffee cake incident, but the owner had a memory lapse and didn’t recall verbally saying such. I guess that’s why things always have to be in writing. Needless to say, my family won’t be returning to this establishment and will advise others against it. Although I already know of several people who have gone there and see no reason to return. I’m not sure if the basis was from bad food or poor customer service. If your business makes a mistake, you should back that up and make things right. A refund would have been the proper way to have done that, but it was never offered. You can get better food elsewhere in the area. It’s just unfortunate as a village resident, as we don’t have many options within walking distance. Hopefully better...

They say that hospitality is the art of making a guest feel like a friend, and that is EXACTLY the experience I had at DiBello’s Bakery. This charming store is just opening on Main Street in the Village of Angola and the owner Tina wasted no time making us feel as welcome as any great hostess would in the comfort of their own home. She had a big smile, was willing to answer all of my questions and showed us around the store. We ordered a sub and we were not disappointed! Generous portions, fresh ingredients and seasoned to perfection. We took home some almond ring for dessert but can’t wait to return try all of the other tempting treats they have for us to enjoy. I called in an order for three whole subs. The person that was taking the order on the phone was so sweet, even when we changed up part of our order. When we arrived the subs were ready to go! We also decided to grab an almond ring and give that a try. The employees were very nice to us and we're incredibly welcoming. The rolls were perfect, sub oil was delicious, and the meat, cheese and veggies were so fresh. It was a bargain for everything we got and the quality!
