Maria's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Town of Evans

I used to love getting pizza from Maria’s. I grew up in Angola but currently live in NC. I always look forward to getting pizza when we come home. Burnt, lukewarm pizza.

I ordered a pizza on a Monday evening. I was told I would have it in less than an hour. While attempting to give the phone person my address, I was cut off after giving my house number. After 50 minutes, I called to get an update and was told the driver was out delivering. After several more minutes, my father took a ride down to the shop and was told the pizza was on its way to our house. Still no pizza by the time he got back. It took him 20 minutes to go there and back. Not only did it take 93 minutes to finally receive our single, large cheese and pepperoni pizza, the pizza was burnt and was barely warm. The driver claimed it took so long because he had to make 3 stops on the way to us. We live 3.7 miles away. Let’s say it took 30-40 minutes to make the pizza from the time we called. That’s still an hour to deliver 4 pizzas in 4 miles. How? Manage your time better, maybe? The driver was defensive upon getting out of the vehicle stating, “You called the shop? We got busy. Sorry.” When my very elderly father attempted to examine the pizza to make sure it was worth accepting, he snatched it back. My father took the pizza back again and this time set it on his hood. It wasn’t going to hurt anything- but sure, private property and all that. The driver freaked out and grabbed it and shoved it at my sister. My sister then took it so it wasn’t on the hood and went to pay and he snapped at her saying, “Just take it. I don’t have time for this.” Jumped in his car and sped off. Overall, an unpleasant experience for all involved.

I know things happen and evenings in the summer are busy. It does not take 60+ minutes to deliver 4 pizzas within 3.7 miles...

Customer service from the manager was subpar. She has an I don't care attitude and you can hear it in her voice. Maybe she's tired, overworked and stressed.

Their food: Terrible. Unseasoned. Bread dough under cooked; very doughy. The salad wasn't any better. The onions taste old like they were cut weeks in advance.

I honestly don't know how this restaurant has over 4 stars. Individuals in this area must love undercooked bread and unseasoned food.

Wholly disappointed. Gave my dog the mini pizza and stromboli and the garbage can the salad. I wanted my money back but since my fur baby ate everything but the salad... I guess I just made a donation to a restaurant in need of seasonings and perhaps a new chef.

I do not recommend this place and I will NEVER order from her again. I was warned by my son in law not to order from here but I did so twice.

My son in law ordered a pepperoni pizza when I first moved here and told me not to order from Maria's.

However, twice a situation arose that I had to order.

My first order was a ham sub, which arrived with no cheese and tasted a bit off...I was shocked 😳 how does one mess up a ham sub. I also ordered a salad. The salad was decent. Must have had a different chef.

I ordered 3 items today a mini Hawaiian pizza, a steak Stromboli, and a salad. All of it and I mean all of it tasted awful.

I should have driven to Gowanda and picked up a pizza from the newest...

So 5 yrs ago when I first reviewed Maria's, they WERE the best Pizzaria around. They went through some shi*t, closed down, remodeled, then came back. I couldn't get through on the phone to order, didn't get anything from there months after they reopened because no one ever answered. Finally they start answering the phone, so we ordered, and I was so excited. Man, was I disappointed! The wings, even when you order extra crispy, felt undercooked out someone. Just more 6 crispy at all the pizza, I don't even wanna talk about the pizza... They use less toppings than before, and they changed their sauce. I HATE sweet sauce on pizza. And to top it off their prices skyrocketed. While they were closed down for remodeling, Pat's moved in closer to my house, they do not use sweet sauce, when I order extra crispy wings, I get crispy wings, everything I get there is really good, and the couple times I've gotten something messed up, management took care of me. Looooong story short;...
