Stroh's Tavern — Restaurant in Town of Evans

Last weekend was my first time visiting the Angola area. I came into this bar and ordered one single vodka cran to enjoy above the beach. For reference, I am 22 years old and have a VALID NYS LICENSE. The rude bartender snatched my ID from me and immediately ran into the back room where the manager was hiding out, I assume. She came back a few minutes later and yelled at me to stand up straight, in front of the entire packed bar. She kept looking at my ID and me. Have they never had a young adult come into the bar or is it just old people?? As a bartender, shouldn’t she know a real vs fake ID? She ended up running back to her manager and didn’t come back for 5 minutes this time. The nice gentleman next to me turned to me and asked what the problem was. I told him how ridiculous it was that she couldn’t figure out if the ID was actually mine.. I look EXACTLY like my license pictures because it’s MINE. When the bartender returned, I told her it wasn’t even worth it to buy a drink anymore and asked for my license back. She refused to give it back until I ordered a drink, which I thought was really weird. I ended up ordering the vodka cran. I made the mistake of not watching her make the drink. When she gave it to me, I stormed out. I took 2 sips of the drinks and realized it was ALL cranberry juice. Did she really think I wouldn’t notice? I’m sure her boss, who didn’t even have the decency to come talk to me, told her to scam me. I was actually hoping they would call the cops, maybe it would be a learning lesson for them. What a waste of money. I will never be returning to this bar! Just go across the street instead. I am disgusted at how I was treated. I have NEVER had a problem getting into ANY bar or buying a drink until last...

Have been going here for many years. Pleasant atmosphere over all of those years. Foodwise, good but smaller menu offerings, standard bar food and soups. Decent indoor and outdoor seating. Right near Lake Erie, you can see it from the outside bar. Small and very cozy. It has darts, Off track betting, quick draw, pool table, scratch off tickets, and a jukebox. Restrooms are small but adequate. On quiet nights it's family friendly to boot because the patrons are very friendly. I came here as a minor to spend time with my parents as they ordered food here or from nearby establishments and I bring my son here when it isn't busy and he loves sitting at the tables. Gonna be honest me and my buddies came into the bar around 11-12:00 last night and were looking to get a couple drinks, bartender who was working was very untrained and unaware of a regular NY ID, denied our buddy because he was the only one without a enhanced NYS license, bartender got chirpy and was honestly very rude when we tried explaining that NYS enhanced licenses have a different layout then the non enhanced NYS ID, I would definitely get some training on that bartender for regular NYS ID, he was very VERY rude about it and honestly shouldn't be bartending as I am a...
