I hate posting poor reviews and rarely do, but this one was pretty rough. Really disappointed by my experience here after reading all the amazing reviews of this place. We happened to be in the Farmington area (rare) so we decided to give it a try, as it was highly recommended by a friend. First issue was that we arrived during happy hour (4pm), but we weren't given the option to sit in the happy hour area of the restaurant, just directed to general table service. Okay, fair, maybe I should have asked before being seated. Anyway, we sat down with no Happy Hour for us, I guess, even though we asked the hostess about it before sitting. (She casually pointed out to the bar and said we could have happy hour there, but continued to have us sit at a non-happy hour table and started passing out our menus... okay... ) Then less than a second after sitting down, our waitress appeared and asked us for our drink order. We hadn't even had two seconds to look at the drink menu first, so we ordered water asked for more time to look. Less that two minutes later, she returned again, and we hurriedly ordered drinks, feeling quite rushed. When it was time to order food, we were astounded when our waitress quickly informed us that they were out of artichokes, veal, scallops, gnocchi, and several other key ingredients. It was only 4 pm and they had just opened for dinner. So much for half of the things we were going to order from here. The bread came and was amazing-- the restaurant's saving grace. We ordered arancini and it arrived warm on the outside and cold in the center, served over cold sauce. We were very confused at this point. The food was not as we expected. We had our salads and before half our plates were gone, the waitress asked if we were done (the restaurant had about three other tables at this point, but was otherwise empty). This was then followed by our very sub par dinner. We ended up eating very little there, boxing everything to go, hoping to fix it ourselves when we got home. Overall, a VERY rough dining experience here. I'd have to say that the portions were super impressive, but unfortunately, the quality was not there. I'm really hoping that we caught the restaurant on a bad day, because otherwise, people of Farmington must not know good Italian when...
Read moreVisited Prosecco Italian Restaurant for the first time on Friday eve April 23rd, 2021. My first impression of establishment was how accommodating the staff was from the moment we arrived, to seating us promptly and the wait service provided by Miss Tia T. was simply outstanding. Tia is a true professional with attention to detail. We ordered two glasses of wine and the Calamari Fritti appetizer, which sadly was just mediocre at best due to its lack of tenderness and was a bit on the soggy side. Perhaps, the Sicilian Calamari or the Gio’s Arancini would have been the more prudent choice. The Caesar salad upgrade ( and kudos for foregoing the upcharge) and added anchovies ( again no upcharge - very classy) was fresh, quite large and very tasty as was the house salad. For my entrée I ordered the seafood ravioli special ($29.00) which had very little lobster and crab in the sauce, and the raviolis were a little more el dente than I would have preferred-- but then again, that is my taste. It also contained 3 semi-large shrimp with tails on which were tender, but really the tails should have been removed because they were in a deep sauce. The entrée should have been called a large seafood "bisque" with 3 shrimp. A lot of liquid with micro bits of crab and lobster-- both tasted the same. Somewhat overpriced for what little seafood you could taste. So I rate this entrée a 5 out of 10. My date ordered the veal parmigiana w/penne ($24.00) which was impressively huge and met her every expectation bar none. She took half of it home and they boxed it for her. This was a 10 out of 10. If I was to visit again, and I will, I probably would try the haddock or veal parmigiana as it looked delicious and such a generous portion. The restaurant was very busy and is moderately noisey (due to the tile floor and large number of patrons). I think overall, they run a very nice restaurant with much better entrees' than I had, but suggest they put placemats or tablecloths on tables for Friday and...
Read moreTL;DR: The food is delicious, the servings are hefty, the dessert is phenomenal, the atmosphere is comfortable, great service, furniture was too wobbly. 4/5
Prosecco is a nice Italian restaurant serving delicious pasta, bread, and cannolis in large serving sizes.
My wife and I have been looking forward to coming here since we moved to Farmington, and they did not disappoint. We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and decor. The food was all delicious and we have plenty left for the next few meals. My wife tried the chicken parm and she really enjoyed it. She said it wasn’t her favorite, but it was tasty. I got the Bolognese with angel hair and I was very happy. For $25 I got enough pasta for several meals. The meal also came with a house salad and their house dressing. The salad was just okay, but came with a lot of tomatoes, cucumbers, and chickpeas. And my favorite part was the fresh bread. I wish they brought us more than two little slices when we asked for a refill, because I could eat bread all day. But it was delicious either way. Finally, we ordered cannolis for dessert. At 2 large cannolis for $7 I was not expecting them to be this delicious. My wife pointed out there was a hint of cinnamon or something in the filling that took it up a level. Usually I don’t care for chocolate chips in my cannolis, but this had a good balance. I was a little disappointed by the quality of the furniture. Our table and chairs were VERY wobbly, making it really hard to eat. Our waitress Kinley was very nice and provided great service. I hope she gets a raise.
Reservations: I almost forgot, we made a reservation using Google and it...
