I normally come here to get my fish and fish products. Needless to say I will not be back for while. The state of the fish tanks was appalling! I have never seen so many dead fish. The one large tank with the goldfish had probably 30-40 fish stuck to the filter. The glass on the tanks were so dirty you couldn't really see what was in them. There was so much algae growth in some of the tanks that it was falling off in clumps. I did not get any fish from these tanks. I get the supplies I needed and went to cash out. Must say the girls at the front were too busy goofing off and acting inappropriately to care what was going on. The girl that cashed me out only rang up half of my items then refused to give me a bag. I even mentioned that she missed items but she didnt seem to pay attention. After i asked for a bag she stated that she didn't have any at her register meanwhile I'm starring at bags at the register right behind her. It was not busy in the store at the time of visit so not sure why she could not have stocked her area with supplies that were needed. I must say this used to be one of my favorite stores. This is my second time returning to the store in the past two weeks. I wanted to talk to someone about a fish I bought that died within 3 days of me getting at home. it was already kinda sickly and they assured me that he would be fine that it was normal for these fish to have lumps on them.(today several tanks shut down due to illness 🤔) So I took the chance. The first time I came back and the young lady who seem to be in charge was running around didn’t even as much as acknowledge my presence so I left. Today I came in the guy was helping someone else. I walked around very patiently. soon as he was finished with the other customer, he went over to the reptile department leaving me standing in there. Never once asked me that I need help he wants to go and gossip with the other girl that’s working there. I love to feed the birds, squirrels, chipmunks and any other critters that wander onto my property, so I'm a bit of a regular at CountryMax. I am a member of their Bird Seed Club so after every so many trips I get a free bag of bird seed, which is nice! I usually visit the one in Farmington because everyone there is so friendly and helpful. In the spring I also purchase many seedlings for my garden and they always bring lots of harvests. I love that I can bring one of my dogs into the store with me and they are greeted by staff as well. I've also had staff offer to load my car up for me as well. They have a great selection of feed for any animal and I love all their bird feeders and bird houses. The last time I went they even had canning products. You never know what...
