I really wanted to love this venue for our rehearsal dinner, but overall the experience was frustrating and disappointing.
Communication: From the start, communication was difficult. I had to reach out multiple times (2–3 emails each time) just to get a response. When I did hear back, they often only answered one of my questions or gave vague responses that didn’t clarify anything.
Day of the event: We were told ahead of time that we could decide on the day whether to hold our dinner inside or outside depending on the weather. However, when we arrived, the outside bar (which we were told would be open) was closed, and the one staff member on duty talked us into holding it inside — not that we had much of a choice at that point.
Setup and staffing: None of the tables inside were set up for our event even though I confirmed this several times beforehand. The one employee working was busy tending bar for other patrons, so my family and I had to move all the tables and chairs ourselves from another room. I had also asked about a highchair for my nephew multiple times and was told one would be available — but there wasn’t, so I had to go find one myself. The tablecloths they provided were clearly meant for outdoor tables and looked terrible in the indoor space.
Food: We had confirmed the menu ahead of time, and I made sure they knew I was vegetarian. Despite that, the pasta dish we ordered had meat in it. My friend brought it up to the staff, who made me a separate dish — but it was undercooked and inedible.
Overall: Between the lack of communication, poor setup, and food issues, I wouldn’t recommend this venue for an event. It might be fine for regular dining, but for something important like a rehearsal dinner, I’d...
Read moreI'll be coming back for sure. The food was great and the music was very nice. I would certainly take the time if you're in geneseo to grab a bite to eat here. I'm sure the above and beyond service experience we received is run of the mill here.
My girlfriend and I were out back to school shopping in geneseo, and decided to get lunch at Torch. I didn't exactly do my research in the check out line, and missed the fact this is on a golf course. It had a great looking menu for adults and a few kids items so it fit the bill. Flash forward to our arrival, and our nearly 5 year old son begins to have a meltdown. He just really wants to play golf, and is having a hard time. Our waitress was ABOVE AND BEYOND. She took our drink orders and brought out cherries for the little man as a snack. She put little league baseball on the TV above us. She brought out a toy plastic club, and a golf ball, and proposed that if our son did a good job eating lunch he could play out on the putting green. His mood improved over the course of the meal, and our entire day was saved. We're hitting that golf ball into a plastic cup in the living room as I write this, and it'll likely be a beautiful memory for our first school shopping day for his whole life. Thanks a bunch...
Read moreYeesh. We expected good food considering the reviews were all 5 stars and it looks nice, but we spent over $80 and it was all terrible. The “medium” burger was charred and inedible, the chicken sandwich had one slice of bacon, the poutine had no flavor, the “trashcan” nachos were just cheese and tomatoes, and onions… when we complained they took 3 drinks off, instead of the burger that wasn’t even eaten? None of the chef specialties were available. Very...
