"The pizza was hugging itself."
Ordered ahead over the phone with no problems, putting in for some Fried Mushrooms, a small Tossed Salad, and a 6 slice RRP Chicken Pizza.
When I got there I did get a tiny bit turned around. When you arrive to pick up you need to go though the front door, but don't go into the dining area straight in front of you, instead you turn left and go into the deli looking area. I had thought this was a kitchen entrance, so I ended up in the dining area. And to make a point about the deli looking area, for picking up, the room in there is pretty small so you might need to wait outside before trying to pickup if it is lunch/dinner rush.
Ended up paying close to $38 for everything, not terrible, especially for that pizza as I would come to learn later.
When I got home and opened it all up I immediately sampled the fried mushrooms, and like a can of Pringles, I could not stop. I stood there in my kitchen, still in my monkey suit, just chowing down on those mushrooms without a care in the world. I might have been a little hungry, but those mushrooms were excellent. And speaking of excellent, that RRP Chicken Pizza, woozier! Some pizzas just feel like the components are laying on top of each other, like they are repelling one another, but this pizza, this pizza was hugging itself. The roasted red peppers were as if they homogenized with the cheese, the cheese fused with the bread, the bread had a crispy exterior with a firm build. Every bite had zero toppings or cheese falling off, no mess, all happy. Sadly the salad was found lacking, a bit sour, that Italian dressing was the wrong call for the greens included.
Overall this was a delightful pizza creation, and i would totally...
Read morePre-pandemic hubby and I had eaten at Marcella's a few times and only for dinner. It was very good, but since I gave up eating grain and refined sugar years ago, Italian pasta and bread was not something we sought out.
Because we have been driven from our usual breakfast place by the abusive behavior of the new owner we thought we'd try some new places. I searched online and discovered Marcella's did breakfast. We did not know this, so of course we immediately had to try it.
I'm still unwilling to "dine-in" at restaurants so hubby went out to place an order for takeout. We both got western omelets with twice-fried french fries and toast. Hubby ate all of my toast and most of my fries. I was able to eat a few fries and less than half the omelet, which was HUGE.
The omelets were LOADED, and I mean LOADED with ham, peppers, cheese and onions. The fries were crunchy on the outside and creamy-soft on the inside. Hubby said the toast was neither dry nor soggy, so that's a total win for takeout toast!
As an aside, the takeout containers were totally posh. I mean seriously luxe, clear containers with vent holes! My 1/2 omelet was quite happy in the fridge over night and it nuked beautifully in the container this morning.

Read moreMy wife ordered a Pizza and 2-Calzone one with spinach, onions and mushrooms for our son who is a vegetarian. When my son went to pick up the order he had to double park when he got up there to begin with. When we got the calzone home he started eating it and my wife was next to him and she said I don’t see any spinach in it. He cuts the calzone in half to see if there is any spinach in it. There was none in it! My wife calls up and spoke with a guy that had to ask what to do. The guy said we will credit you for the spinach, I was like what? I said let me talk to a manager and Dean got on the phone, i said are you a manager or owner he said owner we are not going to credit you for a whole calzone when he is going to eat that one. What do want him to eat not eat it and go hungry. He said we are really busy. He said he could send another one down but it would be an hour before you got it. He said you can come up for another one. Which is a huge inconvenience to us! Why can’t they make the order for what we ask for? Then he hung up on me. So you screw up on my order and you want credit me $1.50, that’s unbelievable! We usually order quite a bit from Marcellas. I guess that’s going to have to cut...
