Maxon's American Grill — Restaurant in Town of Glenville

Let me start by saying they must have had an off day- To be clear, I'd like to qualify this and say, I understand this is not Mortons Steakhouse or Eddie Merlot's but this is supposed to be a higher end quality bar and restaurant. With that being said let me get into it- First off, you would be hard-pressed to find a more seemingly genuine and nice server out there. Next- One of the meals came out with what appeared to be multiple arm hairs in the main dish and all over the side dish. (It was muttered by staff that it wasn't the first time today). That's was disappointing and upsetting for obvious reasons. Also, one of the that was ordered to be cooked medium was so undercooked it was clearly rare. The pasta salad was near flavorless Stay away from the Lemonade as it tasted like it was made with cheap powder mix with substitute sugar, unless that's what you're into. The atmosphere is great, the bar looks nicely stocked, the speed the food came out was fair, they did rectify the issues with the hair in the food insanely quickly, by replacing the food super fast. We did tip our server generously as obviously it wasn't her fault, and she was clearly doing her best. But sadly we even though I am not in town often, I will not be returning, just as my family that does live in town will not be as well. It's a shame, we really wanted to like the place. We may give them a chance again next year if we hear...

I’ve been to Maxon’s many times.. Normally we have a GREAT experience.. but just this last time has been just disappointing. I’ll start first right as we walked in the door at the host stand the manager was yelling at the hostess for seating people wrong and then proceeded to tell her if she does it again she will be taken off the schedule. Joke or not it’s definitely not something you say at all but especially in front of customers. We got sat quickly and greeted quickly. The waitress took our order, got our appetizers out but after 40 minutes of waiting none of us got our side salads. The food runner was moving very quickly and accidentally spilled food on my husband and left him a nasty burn on his finger. That was totally an accident it is okay but then the manager told us he would comp the meal and salads and appetizer. We got our bill and noticed he never took the meal that got spilled on my husband off. Instead they took the kids meal off that was significantly cheaper than my husbands meal. We called them back over and again right in front of us said to our waitress “I don’t think it matters”.. it does matter when his meal is $23 vs a $8 kids meal. Again we normally love it here but I’m not sure if management was changed the new manager just seemed like he was extremely unprofessional and had no clue how to run the restaurant. I read a review of Maxon’s in the newspaper. I wanted to try it. So I shopped all day and then went to Schenectady to try it - figuring if I liked it I’d go back with my husband sometime. I stood at the door inside while a man talked to people on the phone and a waitress was dealing with people. No problem. Then she finished with the couple and went in the back. Okay. So I waited to be seated. The man finished on the phone then ignored me. Okay. I waited 10 minutes still standing in the doorway. Finally a waitress asked me if she could help me and I said I’d like to be seated. She said she’d need to clear off a table for me. Well I never heard back from her again. Finally the man asked if HE could help me. I told him the waitress was going to clear off a table for me. He said he’d help her out by clearing it. But he ended up talking to others at a table. So I continued waiting. Now it’s been a good 20 minutes since I’d arrived. A couple entered through a different door. Now a different waitress cleared off a table. When she was done she called over the couple to sit there. I spoke up and said the OTHER waitress was supposed to be clearing it for ME. She looked like she didn’t believe me saying - yeah? So I said forget it and I left. I went to Pizza King in dt Schenectady. It was very good. Pretty.bad...
