I was born in Strasbourg, the capital of Alsace (Elsass in German) and spend a lot of years before moving to the US… and missing our traditional gastronomy… until now. Chris has managed to create a cozy restaurant with a great vibe, and awesome menu. Everything is very reasonably priced and tasty. We had several flammkueche, and, like in Alsace, the restaurateur is open to a few changes so do not hesitate to ask. I had the Cordon Bleu, made with real gruyère, served with red cabbage and potato salad. The red cabbage has a very interesting twist with a tad of vinegar. Every was great (only comment, our entrées could have been a little warmer, but not worth reducing the stars). Elsasser also has bretzels on the menu and they are not fat or expensive. Perfect with your beer. Christ, as a sommelier, prides himself in a fine selection of wine and he was spot on with a nice Gamay at a good price. I highly recommend this place and I wish Chris and his team all the success he deserves.

Almost a 5 star experience for us. The staff is great and the people very friendly. Very strange entrance as it completely blacked out, and what you think is the entrance is blocked by a bench. The interior is simple but beautiful and welcoming. The food is a mixed bag. My wife had the pork schnitzel, which was excellent. The breading cracked so loudly that the table next to us commented on it. She loved the german potato salad served with it. My Sauerbraten was bland, and the gravy was very thin. The accompanying red cabbage was good and very flavorful, but it over-powered the flavor of the sauerbraten. The pumpkin spatzle tasted nothing like pumpkin, but it was enjoyable. For dessert, we shared an apple and cinnamon flammkuchen, think of a quessadilla. This was perfectly cooked, the crepe like outer layer was crispy, the apple sweet and crisp. If we're in the neighborhood, we would definitely go back. The savory flammkuchen menu looks very appealing.

Hidden gem in Greenwich, NY! This unique, one of a kind location boasts a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for casual drinks, intimate dining and everything in between. The owner Chris was not only welcoming but evidently passionate about his locally sourced, lovingly crafted menu offerings. Though we’re relatively inexperienced with German cuisine, he took the time to explain every dish, make recommendations and went above and beyond to accommodate our friends dietary restrictions. It’s an absolute must go and one of our new favorites!

This place is a gem! I was there sitting outside for the tractor parade tonight. And all my friends raved about how friendly the owner was. We were outside his establishment waiting for the parade and hanging out for a couple of hours. During that time we were in and out using the rest room and grabbing beers from the bar. Let’s start with Rose the bartender, she was amazing. Very attentive to her crowd and extremely knowledgeable about her craft. My friends were unsure of the carefully selected German Beer selection being offered. Rose was spot on in her descriptions of each beer, and recommendations. All of my friends walked about and couldn’t be happier with their choices! Secondly the owner Chris was extremely welcoming and seemed to know who was amongst the crowd both inside and out. He was an amazing conversationist and all around amazing host. As the night went in we ordered some pizzas they specialize in. Chris took my order and delivered them to me personally. I can not put into words how amazing those pizzas were! I can not wait to go back and enjoy a proper dinner here! This place is amazing and a hidden gem just outside of the capital district. I would recommend this restaurant to any one! Job well done to Chris, and the rest of the staff at this...
