Jive Cafe is a delightful spot in The Commons Plaza Rt 28. Surrounded by chain eateries, you will be pleasantly surprised by the Jive menu and options. Step up to the counter and place your order, I selected the French Dip ($8.50): house roasted beef, New York state extra sharp cheddar on a ciabatta roll - served with fresh au jus for dipping. My companion chose the Reuben sandwich ($8.50): CHOICE of (1) meat: [corned beef / turkey] & sauerkraut, Swiss & Russian dressing on rye.
The time from order to food coming out was approximately 10 minutes, fast enough for our allotted lunch time.
Both sandwiches were very good, with ample amounts of meat. The dishes also include chips and a pickle. There are a variety of drinks and some deserts.
There is seating available with a mix of tables and counter areas.
The decor could use some updating but it is pleasant.
Overall, I would definitely recommend...

My first glimmer of excitement was THIN & CRISPY pancakes on the menu. Growing up my parents would make me crispy pancakes and I never see that offered in restaurants. So of course I had to try them out. And they were perfect. Thin and crispy on the edges. Drizzle some of that NY Maple Syrup and I was in heaven.
My son and father both tried the Tuna Melt and Chicken Salad Melt on different visits and both were highly satisfied. I had a taste of the Chicken Salad Melt and it was really tasty. If you're in the are and want some nice cafe food, this is definitely a...

I ordered their Reuben breakfast sandwich, which was very good, and my wife got a classic sausage egg and cheese on a bagel, which was also very good. The only thing we said was they both could've used a little salt, but there was a station for doing your coffee and food before you sit down or leave, we just didn't know we'd want the salt. I got a Red-eye coffee, and my wife got a hot latte, both of which were much better than that corporate coffee shop. Also, the price was VERY reasonable for everything, and you're getting quality stuff instead of microwaved junk. 9.5/10 will...
