BEWARE! READ= I booked this place because my wife was going through a life saving operation removing multiple tumors and expected to be treated in kind as they claimed to have a "hospital discount" which with this phony discount is more than you can book them online for which is just a bait and switch to take advantage of suffering people.. The first night I stayed a very nice older lady checked me in and was a pretty good person and had respect and empathy for what were going through, however the next day I wanted to extend my stay for another day and spoke to a girl that claimed to be the supervisor when I explained my wife had wound up on a machine breathing for her, she said well I can't give you that price you booked it at, we have a "hospital discount" which was 20$ more than what I booked them online for.. I then said well I'd there a general manager you can speak to and maybe do something to help? She said I'm the supervisor and nothing the general manager can do than she can which made no sense.. So I said I'll just deal with it with him in the morning.. I went to this "general manager" in the morning and I was stunned he even was a gm because he was extremely sloppy, obese and had a tie down the front of his shirt that went halfway down to his belly looking like something from Laurel & Hardy No Mask in a shirt that was was so tight it was disgusting, he looked like he was in his 30s and lived with mom in her basement. Without even listening to my complaint this clown loser says to me hey I didn't like the way I treated his desk clerk last night not even slightly knowing what was even going on except for what this awful woman told him in advance. I then told him I am going to review this place and also call your main branch and report you. He literally told me behind a lot of glass "of course" that I should just go back to my room! I just said I tell ya what I'm going to just let your mouth slide this once, All I could think at this point was If my wife wasn't in the hospital doing this bad things would have got really really bad for this pathetic little obese man. I then called and explained to the main branch the whole situation which they are now putting this loser under full review and the employee working for him.. He hung up on the home office and then ducked two phone calls from them having other employees answer claiming he wasn't there which I was on the phone with them and literally was telling them exactly where he was.. This is the worst case of abuse in a management position I have seen in a long time especially when someone's life is hanging in the balance and I didn't have time for this nonsense. This guy has to go if this franchise wishes to keep doing good business in this location. I am a professional tour billiards champion and tour the country yearly using dozens of hotels and I have stayed at roadside dumps with more class and empathy for a family that is going through cancer hell. My reviews will be posted on EVERY reviewing outlet there is and also my Professional Athlete Page that I have thousands of fans and followers.. And those people also use hotels like these constantly.. I can promise that they just lost hundreds of potential guests with this shameful act of just plain detestable and worthless behavior just through reviews and word of mouth. I am also calling the governing bodies of the tour and reporting this to them so they can put them on the no go list for a couple of hundred thousand league members that follow what we do as professionals. Best Western will not be tolerated to act like this to people in pain.. Or just anyone for that matter.. The corporation claimed they will be reimbursing me for my stay which will see, because this will absolutely not just go away for them.. When this disgusting man is fired that will be a start.. I made a huge mistake staying in this place in the first place thinking it was closed to the hospital as they were the first on the list and had the phony hospital discount.. I stayed next door the rest of my stay where I was...
Read moreThis was the worst hotel experience I've ever had, and I'm still dealing with it months later. Our first room smelled so bad we had to ask for a different one. In the new room, everything seemed okay at first. My grandson, who is legally blind, was playing on the bed when I noticed something dark on the sheets. I looked closer and realized it was blood. Since he couldn't see it, he had no idea. I was shocked and worried about the health risk. I took photos right away so there'd be no doubt about what we found.||When housekeeping came up, they were ready to just swap out the stained sheet and leave the rest. I had to insist they replace all the bedding, which they eventually did. Management now admits their "procedures require taking the room out of service" - so why did they allow us to remain in a contaminated room???||The front desk knew it was serious—they offered me $100 credit, which to me was basically admitting responsibility. At first I was told their insurance company would be handling it, but later they changed their mind and backed away from that. That's when I realized I was on my own.||To make matters worse, when we got home, we ended up throwing out clothing for fear of bed bugs or other contaminants.||Since then I've been trying to get corporate to respond. I wrote to their CEO, Larry Cuculic. Nothing. I sent certified letters to their board chairman. Dismissed. The property manager even told my credit card company that my refund request was "theft of service." How is asking for a refund after finding blood on the sheets theft?||Management now publicly calls our situation "unacceptable" and a "serious health concern" - yet they ignored me for months, refused our refund, and fought our credit card dispute. Their response only came after a public review.||I've filed complaints with health and state agencies, and even federal ones, just to get this acknowledged. What should have been a simple "we're sorry, here's your refund" has turned into a long, frustrating process because they've chosen to ignore it.||The beds themselves are also way too high off the ground. My elderly mother would have needed help just to climb in. Clearly not designed with accessibility in mind.||The most frustrating part is they admitted in writing they owed me a refund. Then, when I wouldn't agree to their conditions, they fought my dispute with the credit card company. It felt retaliatory, plain and simple.||It's been over 9 weeks now and still nothing from them. If you're elderly, disabled, or traveling with someone vulnerable, I'd strongly suggest staying somewhere else. And if you do stay, check everything carefully and take photos before using the room.||If management truly believe this was "unacceptable" and care about guest safety as they now claim, prove it - refund our room and compensate us for the clothing we had to discard due to your...
Read moreI wanted to give this hotel a higher rating but I just can’t given our experience. Initially, everything seemed okay. But we slowly started noticing some things, which are listed below. Some of these were more of an inconvenience than others.
It REAKED of smoke. We got a non-smoking room but we could still smell it. It was honestly nauseating. The pool and jacuzzi looked meh and like they weren’t on or accessible. The shower head looked like it had a build-up of hard water or soap scum or something. The water lever was loose and you couldn’t really tell what you were adjusting it to. There’s only one ledge in the shower and everything you place on it just falls right off. The sink in the bathroom is at thigh level, which is very short. If you want to wash your face in the sink and you’re taller than 5’6” good luck! Netflix didn’t work on the TV even though the option was there. The beds were very high. If you’re short, they’ll be difficult to climb into. No slippers. You can hear everything going on in the hallway and UPSTAIRS…
.. That was the worst part, the upstairs guests. We were on the first floor and someone checked in the second day we were there. The second they got into the room all we could hear was their stomping. No, not just walking around, stomping. If someone told me they were bowling upstairs, I’d believe it. They were stomping back and forth across the room for HOURS and slamming things. I’m sorry, but what the hell are people doing just walking back and forth for hours on end?? We ended up complaining to the front desk and we were told there was nothing they could do. We asked if we could switch rooms and they said they were fully booked somehow.
The next day, at 6:30am, the Stompingtons were back at it again. For the next 2 hours, at least, they resumed their walking back and forth. What. The. Hell. It sounded like they were dropping bowling bowls over and over.
I know the hotel isn’t causing this, but it is responsible for doing something about it. They really couldn’t even tell them to keep it down? They said “we don’t know who’s above you” like what? Even I do! It’s on the floor map! You SHOULD know. They just didn’t bother checking. And apparently you need multiple complaints for them to do anything or send security. Which is rubbish, since not everyone is going to want to complain. And we honestly can’t even believe nobody else complained yet, because the walls were SHAKING.
Long story short, this was not worth the headache. Next time we’ll pay more and stay elsewhere just to avoid this. The only good things about it were: the fact that it was conveniently located (it was just a 7 minute drive into town) and the beds were decent (with...
