Honestly a bit underwhelmed, but still going for four stars, a low 4, maybe high 3. This was personally my first visit to Nathan's, which has been on my list for a while as a Rochester tradition, with the friendly slogan, "Comfort in a cup." According to their website: "Nathan’s Soup and Salad has been serving homestyle soups, salads and breads to Rochesterians since 1980." I went with my uncle as soon as they opened at 11am. We both ordered large "Smoked Chicken and Sweet Corn Chowder" and got two breads, one garlic and cheese, the other cheddar cheese. Fast and easy service. The soup was good, but not as great as I was expecting. The smoke tasted a bit artificial and there wasn't as much corn as I would've liked from a corn chowder, but the flavor was overall fine. The breads were also good, especially after dipped in the hot soup. Would be excellent if the bread was briefly warmed in an oven as it was a bit tough and cold. Would return, but would try another, more recommended flavor of soup. Having started in the city on Park Ave., they now only have two locations, both in Henrietta. Here at the Genesee Regional Market and one store at RIT, neither in the city which is a bit disappointing.

My daughters choice for birthday lunch. Delicious soup and sandwiches. The bread is amazing. Everything is extremely fresh. Lots of seating and parking. Very friendly and quick service.

Ordered the grapes walnut chicken sandwich and it’s was barely filled with chicken and only 1 half of a grape to be found. The employees seemed absent minded…

I’ve eaten here all four years I’ve been at RIT and I love their food. The buffalo chicken sandwich with a side of mac and cheese is my go to comfort food on campus, though all their stuff is delicious. However at RIT there is one person that works there that ruins everyone’s day. I’ve known some people that avoid going there because they don’t want to deal with him, me included. Just last week, I had the worst experience and because of his behavior I’ve decided to stop going. This person ruined my day and I ended up in tears over something so simple.

Last week, I ordered my typical meal of a buffalo chicken sandwich with a side of mac and cheese and when I sat down to eat I noticed that the sandwich order was wrong and that it had marinara sauce instead of buffalo sauce. It wasn’t a big deal, so I walked back to Nathan’s and explained what was wrong and asked if they wouldn’t mind making my sandwich with buffalo sauce. When I got my order back it looked to be the same sandwich with the sauce just scraped off of it, still no buffalo sauce. At this point the employee was already really angry at me, so I decided to just get back in line and order another sandwich. Once he noticed I was in line again, he called me out in front of everyone and started yelling at me trying to gaslight me that it was the correct sandwich. Keep in mind, I have been eating this same sandwich order at least once a week for the last four years and knew that it was not the right order. After that I just walked away because I couldn’t deal with the yelling and gaslighting, found my friend, and broke down in tears on their shoulder. I freaked my friend out as I don’t cry often and they sympathized with me because everyone at this point has had a bad experience with that employee specifically. Other employees are really nice if you mention something is wrong with your order and will fix it for you as this is not an uncommon occurrence. Later in the day, I was recounting the story to a different friend in the vaguest details with only the sandwich order being wrong and the employee trying to gaslight me about the order. My friend’s response was “oh, angry Nathan’s guy”; he correctly could figure out which dining hall and employee I went to based on a vague story I told him. My friend also comforted me with the words “Don’t worry, he is always like that. You can tell he really hates his job. He ruins everyone’s day.” Because of this experience and the fact that this employee is always the one taking orders at Nathan’s, I refuse to further interact with him, and will no longer be coming to this restaurant as long as...

Every time I go my order is wrong and takes multiple times to get right. If they get your order right the food is great, but that’s IF. For some reason plain sandwiches are very hard to make. I have created WAY too much food waste by ordering from them and wasted way too much money ordering food and then going home to eat it for it to be wrong and me needing to throw it out due...
