Akebono Fusion Sushi — Restaurant in Town of Huntington

Akebono is my favorite restaurant on Long Island. As someone who takes great joy in going out to eat, Akebono is a real gem. I used to live in NYC, and enjoyed eating at some of the city's best restaurants. Returning to Long Island for a night out was often a bit disappointing - the service and quality could never really compare.. until I found Akebono. The restaurant itself is quite unassuming, and doesn't try to be something it's not. It is the experience of eating at Akebono that really stands out. They have THE BEST service on Long Island. They owners, Patty & Dave, are absolutely awesome and always go above and beyond to ensure that you enjoy your meal. They are some of the most gracious and kind restaurant owners I've met. They don't need fancy decor to keep you coming back, it is the warmness, attentiveness, and high quality fish. They do have some really great sushi fish, the owner selects it himself to ensure the highest quality and it shows. I suggest you try some of the less popular fish like spanish mackerel, sweet shrimp, & striped bass. I can't wait until the craziness of the past year is behind us so I can go sit at the sushi bar and hang out all night. But until then, go check out their take out! Now I have been coming to this spot since it opened 4 plus years ago and have always loved it until my last experience which was so shady that I feal people need to be aware so they do not have to go through the same ordeal. I ordered sushi for pickup as usual and when I was paying for my food they swiped my card 5 times charging me 5 times of what I should be paying for and only went about to fix this after I pointed it out and dave the owner got mad that I did without really explaining how he was going to fix it simply stating it "was business". Eventually they fixed what they did which took a couple of days still making me pay for my food even after having to wait and deal with the bank to make sure that everything was handled correctly. As a loyal customer who has been coming here for 4 years since they opened you do not rob your customers. I am very sad about what happened but it did. Please be on the lookout the hospitality...

I Always passing but I never stop at this restaurant I don't know why. The other day my son insists that we should visit this place to diner in and review their service. I definitely stop for a meal. Even we came 30 minutes earlier than the open time. The open the doors on time and everything was ready to serve. I have a great meal with warm rice sake and I enjoy everything. Great staff real amazing people so I have to come back in order to because I want to give them a better review take some pictures and video because what I experience there guys you should not only read about it but see what is inside great place I give them a five big stars I highly recommend...
