We dined here with hopes we'd find a good new spot in town to add to the rotation and sadly was not the case. The charred octopus appetizer was phenomenal, got us so excited to dive into this place further. We also had an artichoke pizza which lists it has lemon zest on it, it tasted as tho 1/2 a cup of lemon juice was poured on top and the sogginess really made it seem that way. I love a good and spicy fra diavlo so l was really excited for a place that claims to have the best and that it is their specialty. My fra diavlo was like a gumbo like a dark rue sauce didn't even strike me as tomato based, barely any pasta, the seafood was rubber, the shrimp tasted like dirty ocean water. Which was surprising because the octopus was incredible. Wife's salmon was decent was supposed to come with butternut squash mash, but came over what tasted to be super sweet candied yams, which were good, but with fish it was very strange. Was listed as "walnut crusted" however it was not, it had 3 halved walnuts on top of the fish. We happened to like salmon with the crispy skin, however it is not mentioned on the menu it is served skin on. Not an important note, but notable enough. Service sucked, like really really bad. The place is not big, and it was only half full and somehow it took forever. Were there total 1 hour 45 min got my first beer after 15 minutes after ordering then asked 4 times for a refill got nothing. Wife's cocktail took almost a half hour. I sat with an empty beer glass next to me for over an hour and not the waitress, manager or owners asked if it was due for a refill, even tho I had asked the waitress 4 times for a refill. After that, we just gave up. After finishing our meals we sat with dirty plates for around 20 minutes as well. Place has potential but truly needs a serious new game plan. The 5 star reviews are clearly friends and family or offered comps to write. Oh, and they offer sushi for $48 a roll. Don't really see that staying on the menu awhile. All in all I wish them the best, but clearly a lot to...
Read moreWhat a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. From start to finish the service and food was exceptional. I arrived 30 minutes late for my reservation and the hostess was gracious enough to accommodate myself and my significant other. I had a brief conversation with the marketing manager at the bar who was nice and welcoming . Our server, stole the show. She was super helpful, allowed us to order as we go and recommended the calamari which was excellent. We also had the eggplant stack, caesar, pizza and chicken parm. All wonderful. Pizza maker is definitely from Italy. The pasta was delicious, a bit tender for my Italian SO but she prefers it practically out of the box, so her opinion shall be taken with a grain of salt. Perfect texture for us normal folk. The service was exceptional, owners came around and made sure we were well looked after. Cool family restaurant vibe coupled with class and solid food. I generally don’t write novels for reviews but thought it may help clear the air for a new establishment that may be getting unwarranted false feedback. At the end of a day, we are lucky to have a nice meal with our families. This accomplished just that. Shoutout to Sal and our awesome server. - Ankit Sehgal, Founder &...
Read moreWhat a great addition to Northport! The atmosphere at Branzino’s is cozy and inviting, not too big, but warm and intimate.
For drinks, I had the Hibiscus Margarita, which was so flavorful, easily one of my new favorite cocktails! My husband ordered an Old Fashioned, which he really enjoyed, but we didn’t love the Dirty Martini (would probably skip that next time).
We started with the sushi roll appetizer, absolutely delicious, though a little on the pricier side. We ordered the Brooklyn Pizza for our kids and it was phenomenal, they devoured it in seconds! The Wagyu meatballs were also excellent.
For our entrées, I had the Branzino with mussels and clams, it was cooked to perfection, the fish literally melted like butter. We also tried the Spicy Rigatoni and Pork Chop, both outstanding and perfectly cooked.
For dessert, I loved that they offered different flavors of Affogato! We tried the Italian Cheesecake, which wasn’t my personal favorite texture-wise, but my kids’ biscotti and chocolate gelato were out of this world.
We’ll definitely be coming back, everything from the food to the service made it such a memorable dinner. A truly great addition...
