This is my first ever Google review of anything … but think it is important to let people know that Tommys Tacos at the Old Big H shopping Center is doing everything right. Last week I hosted a poker tournament for 16 guys and went to Tommy’s Based upon my own Experience with his food as well as my Guests … who are all “foodies” and endorsed the decision. We rotate the game once a month and each month someone cooks or caters and in the the 5 years of the league (60 games) everyone agrees that Tommy’s knocked it out of the park. I worked with Bella in Catering but Tommy was good enough to step in and make the perfect selection. We went with a Tray pf Birria Tacos … Tray of Mixed Burritos … Street Salad topped with Blackened Shrimp … Chips … Salsa … Guacamole. We picked it up and the packaging was incredible in Tommy’s Tacos Boxes … Tommy even helped take it to the car. He treats his staff and customers right and it shows in the finished product. We have a lot of choices in town … but if you do not hit Tommy’s … you are missing the best Mexican in Town. They have recently added a bar and the servers are always incredible. Also … plenty of parking. If you are doing Shop Right … Home Depot … you have to stop in and get at least a Birria Taco and Margharita … it will remain your Staple for Mexican in Huntington. I also want to add … there was enough food to last all night and into the morning. The next day I took the left overs to a friends job site and fed three other guys who agreed … best they ever had … it it was a day old!!! Tommy also took my call the next day when I had the question … what is the best way to warm up and serve the next day. Again .. in Tommy you have a guy that is great and proud of what he does and does not over prove what he...
Read moreI had passed this place many times and figured it was time to try it, now that my usual place is nonexistent. I thought it was cool that the place had their own bar and they had art on every wall. I ordered a few things to try out. To start I tried the corn fritters. They had a corn mixture and some peppers, I believe, and came with a spicy cheese sauce of sorts. They were very flavorful and the sauce paired well. Definitely something I would get again. I also tried the short rib, fish, and shrimp taco. The short rib was definitely my favorite. It was very flavorful and they gave a good amount of meat. Next time I will need to try the birria tacos to see the difference. The fish taco was my second favorite. The fish was good and it had a slaw on top, which I usually love anyhow. The shrimp taco was also good, but I personally wished it had just a mango salsa instead of more tomato to really bring out some sweetness. I got flour tortillas for all of them, which were okay, but definitely not made in house. I am curious if they make the corn ones in house or if they are better. It wasn't that they were bad, but I think a homemade tortilla could really amp them up and be more worth the price. The staff was kind and did well explaining the dishes. They also opened the soda, which was great, seeing as I needed a bottle opener for it. Overall the food was great and I look forward to trying some...

Tommy Tacos isn’t just a taco joint—it’s an experience. From the second you step into either of Tommy’s locations—whether it’s the OG in Huntington or the brand-new spot in Syosset—you’re hit with a rush of 90s nostalgia meets urban grunge cool. Think flannel, mixtapes, bold street art, and that effortlessly chill vibe you didn’t know you were missing.
But let’s talk food. Their "Birria Tacos is something you eat and immediately realize you won't ever forget - they're juicy, rich, and insanely delicious... and sell out like they're free. One bite in and you’ll understand the hype. It’s no surprise people drive out of their way just to get their hands on them. They’ve also got a taco of the month that keeps things fresh and exciting, and the drink specials are just as creative (and dangerously good... I had a Sangria that was ridiculous).
What really sets Tommy Tacos apart though? Tommy himself. The guy is as awesome as his food, always welcoming, and clearly passionate about what he’s built. And the staff? Just as great. Super friendly, fast, and fun to chat with. You feel like you're part of the family from the minute you walk in.
Bottom line: Tommy Tacos is everything you want in a neighborhood hangout - killer food, awesome people, and a vibe that keeps you coming back....
