I leave this review under extreme duress. I want to love the reservoir inn. The atmosphere is nice the food is mostly decent to very good. However my biggest issue with this place is the the service. We have kept going back even though we have had so many bad experiences because the restaurant is nostalgic for us and is very close to home. However tonight was the last straw. I have to say that I believe this is mostly a managerial problem. On multiple occasions we have asked for things like extra sour cream or a drink normally served on the rocks straight up instead only to be told do you really need that or that's not the way it's served. They make very little effort to please the customer. What astonished me even more is that the management has the nerve to argue with us about what we want. Furthermore we were witness to the quitting of a server due to the kitchen staff denying our request for an extra side. Apparently the kitchen staff yelled at her and told her to tell us no and the server quit as a result. Tonight we waited 20 mins for drinks. It took another 10 min to order our food. The salads and apps started coming about an hour after we got there. We were there with our 3 year old son and he started getting fussy so I asked for our food to go. At the same time my fiance got up to use the bathroom just in time to walk past the kitchen and hear the chef owner and manager joking nastily about us and how I guess it was too long for us to wait. I am appalled. When we got our food the woman manager came up to us to confront us. This was very uncomfortable. She wouldnt just own up to the mistakes and apologise instead just said fire me. Well I do not have that athority but if I did I would. After all that we have put up with and the countless dollars we have spent in there. This is definitely it for us. We are tired of the dirty looks and snide comments. Your wait staff is embarrassed of you and you should be too. I have worked in food service and the service industry and I understand how hard it is to run a business and am so sorry to have...
Read moreIt's amazing this place has such staffing problems for the past 2 years. I can't understand how 1 hour to get simple appetizers in a largely empty place. Told there's only one chef who's also the owner. Being a career chef I can't understand how one person is so inept at their craft that they can't even run their own business correctly. It's a shame that after eating the trashy appetizers , I'm not impressed many restaurants around the area are much better soup was old salty and not French Onion, falafel is a horror show, shrimp satay from the freezer bag. Can't wait to see how these overpriced underwhelming entrees are going to be. No prime rib on a Friday Night, really was a staple in the past. Do us all a favor, and hire a chef, who can at least cook a steak and not use old sour garlic or undercooked...
Read moreI have been a patron of the "Res" for over 30 years and several owners. We have typically had nothing but great experiences there and two nights ago was no exception. I know the owner and staff pretty well and I was saddened that we were one of only 2 parties in the whole restaurant due, primarily to Covid. That being said, our dinners were perfect and beautifully plated. I had the Ahi tuna and my wife had the sliced garlic steak. Both were beyond excellent. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the valley and I hope people start getting out and dinning out again soon. I'm sure they are struggling like many venues, but if you give it a try, you will not be disappointed. It is literally a half mile off Route 28 in west Hurley and their food is superior to other restaurants on the same...
