So surprised to find seriously good NY pizza on the central Adirondacks. Really great pizza dough/crust and sauce too, and any real pizza lover knows it all starts on a great crust, and these guys nail it.
Great sandwiches & tasty hot dishes. And yeah, the pizza! Most pizzas are truly excellent, have tried several items while visiting & camping nearby over past 3 yrs. They do some very different specialty dishes & pizzas, very cool & not just the usual. I'll mention just one pizza not worth getting (unless it was a one-time mess-up & maybe they fixed it by now?), and that was the Margherita pizza; last time we ordered that was summer 2020 though on this one order occasion somebody decided it was OK to use a heavy layer of dried basil instead of real fresh basil leaves, on a Margherita pizza! Good God NO, never do that, bitter as hell. I hope that has changed or was a one-time mistake, & would ask & confirm that they're using FRESH basil before ordering the Margherita. If not, they should pull it off the menu. Every other dish & pizza we've ordered here has been really good to excellent. No hesitation, we return often, easily at least once per trip to...
Read moreWe stumbled on this place because our Google search took us to another place where they weren't serving. We were hungry and far from home on a day trip through the Adirondacks. We originally were not going for pizza, but our options became limited so we found Puterko's. The name certainly doesn't sound pizza like, and the decor was, well, sparse but clean. The owner was alone and very pleasant. He told us a bit about the way he makes his food which we just assumed was salestalk. Boy were we wrong! The pie was really good and made just how we like it. We could easily detect that the ingredients were of quality, and completely home made. The only reason we gave the food 4 stars was because we are food snobs and prefer wood fired or coal fired oven pizza, but that's costly and labor intensive. However, we were delighted with our dinner, and if ever in the area again Puterko's will be our...

We were pleasantly surprised by Puterko's! The garlic knots are amazing, the pizzas really good and the service is efficient and friendly. They have a selection of different types of pizza to order from or you can just "design your own", which is great for any dietary restrictions. And they have VEGAN CHEESE to substitute on the pizza (instead of regular cheese)...and it's delicious! Also: make sure to ask for extra home-made red sauce for your garlic knots, this stuff is good! Even though they close early, we will be back next time we...
