If I could give zero stars I would. This is my experience. Placed a phone order for lunch at 11:15. I was told 45 mins (I was picking up). I arrive close to noon and am told by heavy-set lady with glasses behind the counter that my order is cancelled. Then she proceeds to tell me it's not cancelled and they will begin to prepare it (??). However they are out of 1 item. She then steps outside to speak with someone. When I step outside to ask her about a substitute she snaps back that she is on a break (?.). Here is the rest of my story:
1). Lady comes back in and tells me order is cancelled again 2) Same lady then tells me it's back on but 1 hour wait. 3). Same lady then says 20 mins. 4) After 15 mins (I know I should have left at this point..) she tells me another 20.
As a side note, they were not busy. I was only customer there for a while. Then one other person came in.
I'm pretty fed up by now so I leave empty-handed after losing 1/2 hour of my life I will never get back. Stopped for pizza on way home (family was waiting for me!)
I will never know how the food is. It's beyond my comprehension why a small business would have this person (heavy set, glasses,) taking orders. Customer behind me said she's always like this. So I don't care how good the food might be, I will never return. There are many other food establishments that are much kinder to customers and appreciate their...
Read moreMy recent visit to khyber Grill was a complete disappointment. The food was tasteless, cold, spoiled and unhealthy, with portions that didn't match the price—$7 for a kebab that was barely edible. To make matters worse, the restaurant engages in deceptive pricing, advertising items at $10 but charging $15 when you order, with lame excuses about "large portions" and "organic chicken" when confronted. The food appeared to be frozen and reheated, far from fresh. Adding to the dismay, the establishment is under the same management that previously rented the space to a drug dealer, as revealed by a quick Google search for "exit 42 deli drug bust." Additionally, the owner, Mr. Ajmal, and his partner are incredibly rude, which only adds to the unpleasant experience. I will also complain to the Suffolk County Department of Health & Consumer Affairs to inspect and keep a close eye on this food service establishment due to poor food quality, questionable management practices, and its past history. I cannot recommend khyber Grill to anyone; the combination of poor food quality, dishonest pricing, and questionable management practices makes it a...
Read moreYes, it is really dirty inside (it wouldn’t kill them to at least wipe down the tables), and the girl behind the counter was not the most personable, and the place is also combined with a beverage distributor and deli, but they made my food in a reasonable amount of time for something that isn’t already made and sitting out (10-15min), and it was good, didn’t taste old or bad (I ordered all vegan dishes). If you are looking for a nice clean sit-down restaurant with good food in Suffolk county, go to taj tandoor, house of India, curry club, etc. this isn’t it. If you want really good food inexpensively, go to 106/107 in Hicksville. But that being said, I got good fresh made food for half the price that I would pay at any of the other above mentioned restaurants and portions were really good.
The girl behind the counter gave me a really hard time about accepting credit cards, so if actually visiting there, be prepared to pay with cash.
So it’s hard to recommend this place unless you know what you’re getting yourself into, but I would probably come back next time I’m looking for cheap Indian/Pakistani food that’s on my way...
