La Excelencia Bakery & Deli — Restaurant in Town of Islip

While the baked goods are great, the service is horrible, I drove from queens all the way there and bought a lot of baked goods, the attendant was annoyed the I was ordering too much. In first place she didn't even greed us she said "what do you want" and then she told to hurry up because she had more customers to attend. Did eve have any questions for her to say that we were wasting her time. I was simply buying a lot unfortunately we didn't get to buy everything we wanted, because she was so rude all I wanted was get out of that town. Just to make a clear note I am writing this review based on my visual experiences and from buying some goods. sanitary: A person handling money shouldn’t be touching food. The cashiers are nice but I don’t like the fact that they touch the money and get the bread with the same glove. We purchased some empanadas with white filling for a Salvadorian friend of ours and she told us that the filling had gone bad already. If that wasn’t enough there was a long hair inside the other empanada. We were so embarrassed because this was at a gathering . I use to come here as a kid and loved their goodies. the place can be a a lot cleaner. I've noticed a large number of bees in the summer. they do have a variety of sweet bread and desserts which is probably the only good thing about this place. Everytime i do order actual food, it isn't as good as it's stated. i ordered French toast, and what I got what a Torta (a slice of sweet cake) covered in egg. the last time I checked frech toast is not made that way.
