Pollo Campero — Restaurant in Town of Islip

My order was 776 on 1/02/2019 at 6:23 pm at this location on Fifth Ave in Bayshore, NY. Upon eating my eight piece chicken, I discovered that half of the pieces were bad. My family and I consumed the four pieces that seemed fine. I had and have no intention of returning the four bad pieces or receiving recompensation of any kind. However, I did call this location to inform them of my problem. I asked to speak to a manager. The woman who answered the phone introduced herself as Kathia and claimed to be the manager. I told her nicely about the chicken. She proceeded to ask me to hold on one moment. I waited on hold for five minutes with no response. There was clearly no intention to take my gentle complaint. My call was really for the good of the restaurant, as selling old food can most certainly come with costly legal repercussions. The quality of personnel is poor but not surprising. Employees never seem to be the brightest, which is understandable. Rudeness, however, is an unfortunate addition to incompetence. Intentionally ignoring a small complaint is ridiculous, perhaps even worse than the error of selling old food (which I will generously assume was an accident.) As I said, financial recompensation is not being sought out here. So there is no need to offer that. If any step should be taken from my message, do something about this situation. I would like to continue as a customer of this franchise. However, if the quality of food and service proceeds at such a deplorable level, this will no longer be an option. I am certain that many other customers will have or have already experienced similar situations and simply do not purchase from this location any more. OMG! Can you say water! "Someone Bring me....Water!" I understand that many fast foods have a high sodium content But, this place abuses the privilege. The Chicken was hard like it was out for a while and the Beans were Dry! Dry! Dry! & Salty OH! and did I mention Dry? I had to mix in water and Mic it so this way it wouldn't feel like Im eating dry Salty paste the Rice was somewhat ok and the deep fried Plantains were ok and the Staff? what else can I say, the Staff Operates the way you would expect a Minimum wage staff to Operate: Sloooowwwww! None-Courteous, Cold and Very Forgetful. Now, I can only speak for this particular location as this was my Personal experience, I only pray that others aren't like this one. I only came here based on a friends recommendation and Now Im gonna Recommend a good Oral Specialist so she can have her taste buds examined. Next time Im looking for good family meal take out and I see this place I will keep driving right past it. The prices are Insulting once you see & taste what your buying. Suffice to say my order made its way fast into the trash as no one in my family even touched it they all thought I was crazy for bringing this stuff home for dinner. I had a good mind to return it and ask for a full refund but who was I kidding? Sorry If review seems a tad Harsh but I feel my hard earn money should of bought better....

Food was excellent. Their chicken taste better than church's, KFC, Popeye!!! That is when the good review stops because the Shift manager is very Rude!!! I was asking her information about the food here and She looked me dead in my face and as to say you black girl why are you talking to me? So her name is Brenda and she treated me with such negative vibes I surely will stay away at least when I know she will be there... It seems like she is rude to people and she knows it because after I told the other shift manager she laughed at me as to say what else is new! It's 2018 people we have to learn that rather Least of people or great of people we are all humans❤ treat people with kindness stop being evil to people because of their Skin...
