Absolutely the Best Sushi on Long Island! Always fresh, Always Delicious and Always served with a Smile! The owner Jason is a itamae master that is always there to greet you with a cheerful “irasshaimase” ! The sake selection is modest but has some nice and affordable choices. Everything on the menu is made to order and most of the time we order so much because we just can’t decide which plates are better. Their sushi rice is exemplary ! (When the rice is perfect, the sushi is perfect). The Victoria Roll & The Joey Roll are a must! A simple Bok Choy is divinely dressed up in a silky garlic broth. The fresh rock shrimp is lightly hand battered and tossed in a mildly kicked up sauce. The Hamachi Kama is juicy and broiled to a crisp perfection. The Nabe Yaki Udon gives you a warm hug on a cold winter night. I can literally go on and on but you should just go and try it...

Yes it's in a 1980s looking brick strip mall. The Ambiance is okay inside. Neither of those things matter at all because from the minute you sit down at your table the service is impeccable and the food is outstanding.

Full disclosure I'm the only person in my family with a seafood allergy and not only does Onsen work around that, but they have never served me a single item that's triggered and allergic reaction which I cannot say for other restaurants. This speaks to their cleaning as well as food maintenance and looking out for cross-contamination

So I learned something about myself. I don't like raw food. I went with my friend who loves it and he said it was excellent. I love the fact that it was a new experience. The waitress was lovely. I tried some kind of Asian beer and a martini. I didn't like the martini. The seaweed salad was good. I also liked the fried sushi. All the sushi I choose in my main dish were cooked. The salad was all raw I couldn't finish it but my friend found pleasure in helping me. The atmosphere is cosy and family or couple oriented plus u can see the cooks making ur meal.
