Prestano Bakery — Restaurant in Town of Islip

The dirtiest bakery ever. Brought cookies from here to a friends house and they all had hair baked into them. The owner is nasty. Continually picking zits off her face and touching food. Stay away. In addition as you can see in her response to the 1 negative review below the owner is very combative, rude and nasty. With so many wonderful small businesses and business owners please avoid this establishment. Spend your hard earned dollars where the owners care about their customers and treat them the right way.

To reply i did come back to store and gave one of the hair infused cookies to her to show her. I was more interested in you improving your quality control so others dont have the emabarrassing experience i had when friends saw the cookies from your bakery. The worker offered to replace some items but how could i trust eating them so declined. After a few months away i decided recently to give your bakery another opportinity and when i saw how rudely and digustingly you treated a customer, plus what i perceived to be extremely dirty i had to walk out and write the review. Sorry but all accurate. THIS PLACE WAS WNDERFUL FOR MANY MANY MANY YEARS BUT THE NEW OWNERS TOTAL DISREGARD FOR CUSTOMERS HAS DESYROYED IT. I wish i could have given them a zero rather than 1. 1 in my opinion is an overstatement...

After this incident, they really took ownership The owner/manager personally called me and corrected the mistake and was very courteous. Even offered to make me another cake for free. I will be going back again to the store and recommend it to other people as well.

I had ordered a cake from this bakery and needed a gluten free item as well on the side . When I called to order they had confirmed that they always have gluten free cookies available, but when I got there this morning, I was told they were out . Also the person who packed the cake, just closed the box with a tiniest pieces of tape, no string etc. even though I had seen her pack another lady boxes with tones of string . Needless to say by the time I got to my place, the box was all open making it difficult to carry. When asked for a bag, I was told the box is not going to fit in any of the bags. There was absolutely zero effort for a good customer service. Never ordering anything...

Really wanted to give more stars but....if I bought from bakery more then it's 5 stars but as far as bagels go it's hit or miss. Past 2 weeks had to change my order up because there everything bagels are just not up to par . Either under cooked and too doughy or barely any seasonings on the bagel it might as well be called a plain or light seeded poppy bagel. I don't know what happened but something changed.. as well as the bacon egg n cheese . Instead of putting bacon strips they cook a bunch of bacon in the morning n just grabs chucks of bacon bits wen u need a sandwich which wud be ok except it's either not cooked fatty fatty bacon or it's rock solid pieces that hurt to chew and I end up picking my sandwich apart . Guess I got to change my order again.. otherwise the staff there is awesome besides the lady who messes up the orders all the times then tells you it's because of you. And that u...
