Unfortunately, my experience at this restaurant was far from satisfying. While the ambiance was welcoming, the service left a lot to be desired. Our group ordered seven meals, but only four arrived. After waiting for 30 minutes, we inquired about the missing orders. To our astonishment, the waitress confessed that she had failed to write down three of our orders.
By this point, the rest of our party had already finished their meals, leaving those with missing orders hungry and disappointed. This oversight in service not only ruined our dining experience but also wasted a considerable amount of our time.
I cannot recommend this restaurant due to the significant lapse in service. The experience was frustrating and left us feeling neglected as patrons. Improvements in staff training and order management are critical for this establishment to meet the basic expectations of dining service.
Update: The owner responded to this review by confirming the incident in his response. Instead of simply apologizing, he tried to make excuses and then place blame on the patron. This is what you can expect by going here: excuses, personal attacks, and an...
Read moreWe stopped in for dinner without a reservation, hoping to enjoy the Ice Jam Inn for the first time. When we arrived, the hostess asked if we had reservations. We did not, and were told they were “fully committed.” The dining room did not appear full, and unfortunately no alternative was offered — not porch seating, a waitlist, or even a to-go option.
I understand the importance of reservations and kitchen pacing, but as someone who has worked in restaurants, I know there are often creative ways to accommodate a live, willing customer. Even if seating wasn’t possible right away, a friendly explanation and an option to wait would have left a much better impression.
Sadly, we left feeling turned away rather than welcomed, which is not what I expected in such a small, charming town. I hope the restaurant considers offering more flexibility or communicative options in the future, as first impressions matter — especially...
Read moreAfter eating here twice as a couple, we recently booked the Ice Jam Inn Restaurant for a small wedding reception of 17 people. We worked with Chef Zack to plan a menu that included a charcuterie board to start, family style appetizers for the table, plated salad and entree and family style desserts. Every bit of the meal was perfectly executed and the service was impeccable. You can see the attention to detail in everything that this team does. The farm to table ingredients are perfectly prepared by the kitchen staff. The service team's timing and attentiveness was exceptional. Chef Zack has an obvious penchant for bringing out the best in high quality ingredients, highlighting their natural flavors while elevating the dishes with creative combinations and excellent plating. Thanks again to the team there, and we...
