Never patroned here, I'm sure the food is great and they care about their customers, but as far as the community goes... Seems like they only care about making money. They let their spill over customers park up the joining residential street on both sides making it difficult for a larger vehicle let alone emergency vehicles to enter or exit the road, and they let their customers park on top of and block the public side walk kn front of their business.
The gentleman which I believe may be the owner seems very friendly and warns me to be cautious from time to time about the crazy traffic in the parking lot as well as the 2 streets they corner.... As I am down there putting my 9 and 5 year old on the bus for school, I often have my 8 month old baby with me as well.
The corner of river and spring is my children's bus stop and transportation has directed me they will stop in front of gus place as the Brooklyn pizza side deemed even more unsafe. I drive my vehicle and park there for roughly 5 mins and have been for Close to 2 years with seemingly no issue until the women that I believe may be an owner as well decided to come out as I'm getting my kids out because the bus had just pulled up telling me I'm not allowed to park there for the bus. Not even for 5 minutes. And then threatened to call the school on me like I have a choice in this matter! I do not have a choice! And I have been in contact about it for 2 years now! They have a strict time and a strict path they have to travel, I've been trying to get them to come up with a better solution already! And our wonderful bus driver has been doing the best she can. I'm just not sure what else I'm supposed to do!
With all of these pedestrian fatalities going lately... HELL yes I will protect my small children in my car! At the bus stop! On a very busy road!
Should I buy a damn hot dog every morning? Is My 5 minutes for the safety of my children really that much of an inconvenience for this business? And for customers that decide to show up 35 minutes before the place even opens?
The hours state on the door the place sn't open til 9 am. I am there from 825am til 830 am. I'm just in shock over how not only this place but so many people have no regards to children! Not just mine but in general! No one gives these poor kids a chance let alone any respect or shown any common decentsey or courtesy or compassion.
And ps, since they care about their customers so much and taking. Money from them.. maybe they should plow and de - ice their parking lot for them as the ruts and the ice looked difficult to navigate. Seems like a majority of their customers are Sr citizens with mobility aids. Not ideal conditions to have to walk over.. Just saying since I was also given the liable...
Read moreHoping to move to the area. Hubby and I stopped in for a quick lunch. We looked at the menu and got a little nervous but we were starving so we stayed. I had a BLT and he had 2 loaded hot dogs, both were delicious. Mine came with a generous portion of chips and his fries. Don't let the small menu turn you away. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. They had an area for a band to set up, we were told they have bands regularly and open mic nights. If we move there this will be a regular haunt for us...
Read moreOur first visit to the area, it was 1:30 PM when we realized we were Hungry. We looked on the internet and Gus's sounded perfect. We arrived at 1:45 PM, just as they were getting ready to close for the day ( at 2 PM ). They welcomed us in anyway and made us some delicious chili-dogs ( to go )... even chatted with us while our food was cooking. Great People and Great Chili-Dogs in an interesting up-state Hudson...
