The Olde Log Inn — Restaurant in Town of Lake George

Let me start off by saying that I truly do not enjoy leaving bad reviews but given the unbelievable things I witnessed the staff doing, I just had to speak out.

We had visited previously and had an incredible experience. Unfortunately not on our return visit.

The owner sat us at out table and the staff are doing a good job working hard to wait on customers. It did seem as though our waitress was agitated or they were just short staffed??

It was very disturbing seeing that the bus station/tub was located right out in the front of house. Even more disturbing was watching the waitstaff after putting stuff in bin. They use a DIRTY rag to wipe their hands then they go straight to the POS and touch the screen to place orders. At no time did I see anyone wash their hands before picking up orders to take to their customer's tables. They then use the same dirty rag with a spray bottle to wipe down tables.

The food was even more disappointing. Maybe it was just an off night as our last visit the food was exceptional.

Hopefully they will make some changes to address the issues and improve their disinfecting practices. Definitely move the bus station/bin out of sight...

On our second day of Lake George we decided to go to The Log Inn Restaurant. We saw that it had good reviews. Our family ordered a cheeseburger,reuben sandwichi, and finally a roast beef sandwich. Overall we thought the food was solid good food the food, not award-winning but we all enjoyed our portions. On the cheeseburger there was a good blend of the right flavor of sauce and everything combined made it good I feel like the meat was a little bit flat but flavorful. On the roast beef sandwich the bun was nicely crafted and well done. The Reuben sandwich was Rock Solid. Overall we had a good server and the restaurant seemed clean and was rustic. If we lived in this area we likely would have gone to this restaurant again. I would recommend this place and you probably would not get anything better around this area. Extremely disappointed. My family read the reviews and saw the high rating so we were all looking forward to a nice meal. The hostess was very sweet and that's where the positive review ends. Service was almost non-existent. Our meal took over a hour to cook. It was very busy so we knew the kitchen would be backed up, however, other diners were seated after us and left before we were even served. Our food came and some was cold, the burger was undercooked, the chicken sandwich was tough. Neither staff nor management seemed interested in my concern. We spent two hours of our vacation and over $60 for poor quality food and poor service. The food looked fabulous, but what a disappointment. I should also say this is my first review ever. I was so upset that I had my son show me how to write one. There are many better choices here in...
