We had dinner on a Thursday evening and the only thing different from a normal dinner was that the staff was wearing face coverings, but other than that, it started as a "normal" dining experience.... and then we had our server show up with amazing warm bread and a caramel butter that was incredible - I could have made a meal out of that - glad I didn't because our meal was the Grilled Bistro Steak, which my friend just loved, the potatoes were crispy and perfect. I had the special with was a bone in chicken with a creamy sauce and carrots in a sweet glaze that were tender and perfect and a cornbread stuffing that rivals Thanksgiving! For dessert, we ordered the apple ganette (basically a tart, but oh so much more than a simple tart!) with a vanilla ice cream and a raspberry glaze... We were happy and stuffed! The service was amazing, the restaurant was socially spaced out, we sat by the fire (and the bar) with a beautiful view of the lake out the back patio which was lit up with firefly lights. Beautiful meal in a beautiful setting with amazing service. And then we came back on Saturday morning for brunch. We sat in the same space, by the fire place, now the bright sunlight glistening off the Lake's water. We split the Applewood Smoked Bacon Omelet, with a creamy swiss cheese and tender mushrooms, plus a melt-in-you-mouth hash brown side and an English muffin. Then we also ordered the French toast and I thought I knew what French toast was, but this thing was not what I imagined - it was oh so much more than that. It was more like a cake in its thickness and it was covered in a maple cream cheese, with a cranberry compote; they included a side of maple syrup but it was not needed - this was a thing of beauty and it melted in your mouth! We didn't need to eat again until dinner! The service, again, superb. Will definite visit again and most definitely dine here again!

First time for us at this Aurora resort property and we just walked around before dinner. Another hidden gem on the Finger Lakes. Toured the spa and it looks amazing. For dinner we walked down to the 1833 Kitchen and Bar which is situated lake side. On the upper patio there is a good view of the lake, but several trees that prevent a total sunset view. The patio also has several heaters as the fall chill is beginning to set in. The menu is not extensive but what we tried was delicious. Several Gluten Free options and even Gluten Free bread was served with a high end virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The regular option is a brioche bread with a tomato paste dip was also very tasty. They have an extensive wine list ranging from the affordable all the way up to a $1600 bottle of red. Our local favorite from the Hermann Wiemer winery on Seneca Lake was also represented. They also had a good selection of beers. We started by sharing the frites and a garden salad which a perfect beginning. For our main we had the pork chop and short ribs. Both were beautifully prepared and excellent tasting. We did not need desert, so honestly did not even check what was available. The servers were attentive and the food came out with perfect timing. We just found a new favorite place and can’t wait to bring friends and family here in the future. This is a winner. You will not be disappointed.

Wow, what an experience. This was one of the best experience ever - the food, the service and the ambiance. Incredible. Everyone was professional to the highest level. It has rejuvenated my outlook that high quality service and cuisine is possible in Upstate New York! The New Years Eve Prixe Menu was perfect. The highlights for me were the Mushroom Dashi with the poached black bass and the Waygu Striploin perfectly cooked medium rare! By the way, it was embarrassing to hear a lady behind us ordering that medium well - yuck. We also had the Osso Buco Venison. It was slightly dry but tasty. And the desserts-yummy! Especially the Chocolate Raspberry Bombé! Wow! The staff was so well trained. I commend the management doing a phenomenal job instilling the great service standard! Kudos! I loved 1833 and will go again and recommend to all that want to have a top notch experience! Thank you Aurora Inn!

They say that Paris is a movable feast, but so is the Aurora inn 1833! With the pandemic and the lack of travel to Aurora, Sean and his sous chefs have taken the restaurant on the road and bring the feast to you. Recently they've been advertising that they will deliver fully cooked meals all about the Central New York area, and we opted to get the works delivered to us in Skaneateles on May 2nd. They did a fantastic job complete with a really good charcuterie board, an excellent dry Riesling,, local craft beer, delicious and hearty salads with the really unique and delicious dressing, as well as paella that you would think came straight from Valencia it was so authentic. I had pot roast and the scalloped potatoes which were fantastic and way better than what you get at the Sherwood Inn. And the bread pudding desserts were very very good. All of this food for under hundred dollars. I couldn't believe the value and it was delivered! And to top things off, they were so appreciative that we showed up and bought it after they had slaved over hot stoves for hours. They made us feel like the most special customers they've ever had. So off we went with the food and enjoyed it very much. No cleanup, no crowds. Honestly you can't beat it. I give it six stars if I...
