Sushi 22 — Restaurant in Town of Lewisboro

Update: I called the restaurant and told them how awful the sushi was. We went over what was ordered and the issues in a ten minute call. They freely admitted that the fish had been sitting out all day, and to come back the next day to try again because it would be better. Think about that before ordering here.

Who is giving this place these high reviews? First time here tonight and the sushi is hot trash. Pungent fishy taste that comes from old fish is in every roll. Multiple types of fish. Sushi doesn’t get that strong fishy flavor unless it’s old / bad. Plus look at the pictures, just mashed up and tons of filler. If this is all you know you have to go out and try other sushi, you need to find a place that’s quality, not this. Also, if you come here and order hot foods with your sushi they’ll put it right in with the sushi. Warm, fishy smelling/tasting sushi when you get home. I hope you get the point.

In hindsight walking in should have given me more red flags. Man in the back was eating over food prep areas when I walked in. It smelled like a Chinese food restaurant, not a sushi joint. Be aware of what you’re ordering and if it tastes like this don’t eat it. You can get insanely sick from fish not handled, stored, or prepared correctly. I’ve been here before for a simple hand roll and miso soup and the food was pretty tasty and very fairly priced but I didn’t feel like it was the best I’ve ever had. Today I tried their al a carte Salmon nigiri, crab rangoons, and spicy tuna roll and everything was exceptional. The nigiri was some of the best I’ve ever tasted all while being very reasonably priced. The crab Rangoons held their crunch and delivered in every way I wanted them to. And their spicy tuna roll was full of flavors and textures I never expected to find in a spicy tuna roll but I’m so glad I did.
