The Crescent Restaurant and Bar — Restaurant in Town of Lyme

We went here for a family dinner while on vacation. We sat outside with our dog and there was live music with a good atmosphere. We were the first of the many people there for the night to order food, and after waiting an hour and 10 minutes, ended up cancelling our order without getting the food. The staff was rude and aggressive when we asked to cancel the order and never came to tell us there was a delay in making our food. We got there right when the servers got there, at 5:00pm and ordered very shortly after, maybe the 4th or 5th table to order. So over an hour to go through 5 tables or so with no update? I never once "yelled at" or raised my voice at staff. Terrible service. Would not recommend.

In the owners response, they stated they had a full dining room and bar, there were 6 tables and 5 people at the bar, by no means full. The dog they mentioned was in the shade and was drinking water regularly, not a problem. If staff ever came to check on us, they would have seen this. And the staff never once came to tell us they were short staffed until after we had cancelled our order. This response from the owner is blatantly false. The owner did not seem the least bit surprised when we asked to cancel our order, making me believe that it is a regular occurrence for them, again going back to a very poor customer service. I never once "yelled at" or raised my voice at staff. All I did was question why the food was taking so long. This amount of ineptitude and falsification by the owner is appalling. Would not recommend unless you want to sit for hours without...

My husband and I loved going to the Cresent for a late Saturday lunch while at our cottage. I will not go back and have nothing good to say if ppl ask me about eating there. The last time I was at the Cresent was for a group gathering the meals were good, but the service was rude and slammed meals down in front of a couple in the group. We all saw it and were disgusted. The couple had asked about their meals after waiting over an hour and most of us had our meals and were done. That made the waitress angry. By the way this couple are very sweet ppl generally. The couple were so upset they left without eating their meals. I confronted the waitress in front of the owner for basically throwing the meals down. The waitress replied they were under staffed and the owner/manager walked away verses asking what happened. The Cresent was not overly busy that night there were 20ish ppl at the bar , our group and a couple of tables had ppl. I figured about 75 ppl at the time. Our party was planned ahead of time...

I wasn't impressed. The waitress had two tables and couldn't seem to manage them.👎 We ordered a glass of local wine that was advertised on their list board. They didn't have it.👎 When we ordered our dinner from their today's special board, the waitress informed us that was Tuesdays special.... We were there on Thursday.👎 Our food came out before our salad's did....👎 I ordered a spicy shrimp dish with rice. The shrimp was over cooked and part of the rice was hard and crunchy.👎 I would have complained but the waitress took way to long to check to see if everything was ok. 👎 My husband ordered the haddock and F.F dinner. It was cooked perfectly👍 We ordered french onion soup... I don't know what we got but it wasn't french onion soup.👎 Needless to say we most likely will not return. We also will not recommend The Crescent...
