A Dining Experience Like No Other – Wise Guys Ristorante is PURE MAGIC! If I could give ten stars, I would! Wise Guys Ristorante in Chaumont, NY, isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience, a performance, a love letter to incredible food and hospitality! From the moment we walked in, it was clear we had stepped into something special.
Let’s talk about the food—because WOW. Every dish was a masterpiece, expertly prepared with the freshest ingredients, bursting with flavor, and plated with care. The portions? Let’s just say you’ll leave feeling joyfully full but still dreaming about your next visit! They take food allergies seriously, going above and beyond to ensure a safe and delightful meal for everyone.
But what truly elevated this experience was the service. Our server was nothing short of a theatrical genius, passionately describing each dish with dramatic flair, making us feel the heart and soul behind every bite. It was like having a personal food storyteller at our table!
And the atmosphere? Utterly heartwarming. Wise Guys is family-owned and operated, and the love they pour into their restaurant is palpable. From the "sit and stay a while" chairs, to the fun crystal glasses for your favorite libation all the way to the employees who, even if they weren’t family were treated as if they were—hugs, heartfelt goodbyes, and genuine warmth radiated from every interaction. It felt like we were part of something bigger than just a dinner out.

Read moreThis place had been recommended to me over a year ago, but this was my first visit. From the outside, it's pretty modest. In fact, it kinda looks like you should just drive on by. But the exterior belies the fact that it's a semi-upscale and pleasant joint. We sat in a booth, ordered drinks and were served complimentary bread. It was warm awesomeness. Then we devoured an order of garlic knots that were beautifully plated. You might say it was a second round of warm awesomeness. They were full of flavor, and the dipping sauce was top-rate. Finally, the pepperoni pizza arrived. One member of our party rated it a 9 on a scale of 1-10. Another gave it a 7. I settled on 7.5. It was pretty, and the cheese and pepperoni were spread to the outer edges of the New York-style pie. I like that; no wads of dry crust ends to waste. But I just felt like I'd tasted this kind of pizza a thousand times in my life. And it was just a touch too black around the edges and on the underside. It really was a nice atmosphere, though, perfectly lit with music playing at a reasonable volume (We heard a Jimmy Durante tune), and I liked our server, a fellow named Kole. A sign out front indicated that the restaurant will soon be moving to new digs down the street. I'll glady go back once...

My brother and I took our parents here for their anniversary dinner and were pleasantly surprised by how good everything was. We definitely got more than we normally would have because of the occasion.
2 appetizers: La Bomba (caprese salad) and Polpetta (meatballs), both were good. A couple of us also got a side salad and a Caesar Salad that were perfectly acceptable.
4 entrees: Trio Perfecto (seafood pasta), Shrimp Alfredo, De Toni (scallops in pasta), Tortellini Aglio (sausage in pasta). All of our entrees were delicious, with the Trio being the mutually agreed best tasting. I personally got the Aglio and really enjoyed the slight spiciness of it.
3 desserts: Chocolate Panna Cotta with orange zest, Canolli layer cake, and Sweet Knots (similar to sweet cinnamon rolls in a breaded knot form). Everyone else really liked the Panna Cotta (I'm not a chocolate person) and we really enjoyed the Sweet Knots. The Canolli cake was fine, but definitely took 3rd place.
Our server was Amber and she was great! Personable and on top of things, despite being quite busy. Very clean restaurant and bathrooms. No...
