King's Wok Buffet — Restaurant in Town of Malone

Food was fresh, the buffet was kept constantly refilled, whether you were standing there, or not! LOL! Not all kitchen staff appear to speak English. The table staff was excellent, cleaning away old plates, refreshing our beverages & checking in with our needs quite often & swiftly. The ambiance isn't terrific, as it was jam-packed with patrons & the entry hostess appeared new & possibly in training. It's easy to overlook some additional wait times in line while the new hostess figures out how to determine available seats when you're greeted professionally with a welcoming smile, perhaps some apologetic gestures or words about the in-training staff, etc. This was not the case with our recent evening at the buffet! The new hostess looked aggrieved at us, never once spoke nicely, apologetically, or even appeared to enjoy her new position at all! She rolled her eyes, sighed loudly & was dressed appallingly -- similarly to what you'd wear on a last, lounging Sunday at home on a desperate laundry day! Her loungewear bottoms were very tight, showing far more than I enjoyed seeing; they were not at all appropriate for work attire, let alone what is customary wear for restaurant greeters. She appeared overall disheveled, confused & unhappy to be there. I noticed another table's female wait staff also dressed in tight, revealing bottoms made from loungewear-type material. While I very much enjoy relaxing at home in pants of this material, too, they are anything but appropriate looking for work-wear (& somebody needs to alert many people from this generation to this fact!) I would prefer to revisit while less packed, but still when busy enough to assume the buffet food is being regularly replenished with their delicious fresh food. I've had the misfortune in the past of eating here when the food appeared to be reheated leftovers -- chicken that was extremely difficult to chew, courses that were shriveled in appearance & not nearly as flavorful. This was our 2nd visit within a couple of months now. We had avoided this eatery for over 2 years, having gotten quite sick on a couple of different occasions. Additionally, we'd known friends & family who'd endured similar experiences wherein we all suffered the same physical symptoms akin to those of food poisoning. I am very happy to report no such illness on these later 2022 & early 2023 occasions. We all enjoyed the food very much with only 1 similar dissatisfaction -- thirsting for water afterward. Likely, the food was highly salted. I am looking forward to enjoying future dining...

Update 2 May 2024: Had a very pleasant birthday lunch. The professional staff welcomed my son and I as well as my two Service Dogs. One of which has been by my side for 14 years and the other is 14 months old and in training. We observed the respect the staff gave other disabled patrons, too. The prices were reasonable despite the bad economy. The large variety of dishes were very tasty. The buffet area was clean and food replaced often. The only fault we found was that our table was a bit wobbly. Thank goodness they got rid of those ineffective face masks. It's good to see smiling staff.

Update: First time back since Covid. Very clean. Staff welcoming and professional. Wish they didn't have to still hide behind their masks. Makes it hard to see smiles. Food tasted great, and the buffet kept refreshed to prevent any food sitting for too long. Ice cream machine was working. Yummy. Increased from 4 to 5 stars. I'm glad they survived the past 2 years. Many places didn't make it half as long.

At Kings Wok I had a meal so fine, The buffet spread was truly divine! The only place in town with all-you-can-eat, Where flavors and value perfectly meet.

The stir-fry sizzled, the dumplings were hot, Sweet and sour chicken hit just the right spot. From noodles to rice, each dish was a treat, Making my dining experience complete.

The hot and sour soup was rich and so warming, The spring rolls were crispy - truly charming! Fresh food kept coming throughout my stay, What more could a hungry diner say?

The staff was so friendly, the service was great, Clean tables and floors - no reason to wait. For families and friends, it's the perfect place, With smiles all around and food served with grace.

The value's unbeatable, the portions are vast, Quality and freshness from first bite to last. Kings Wok has won me over, it's true, I'll be back again soon - maybe with you!
