This place is unbelievable, in the worst way. This will be my third & last visit to the Publik House.
Tonight we are sitting at the bar, place a food order after waiting 15 minutes and having to ask the bartender to place said order (not a busy night, max 7 people in the entire bar section). Put in for a pizza and 20 wings, we have been sitting at the bar watching multiple tables of food come out who had been seated after us. Ask to speak with a manager and get told the manager is ātoo busyā again mind you the ENTIRE restaurant has maybe 20 people in it, 7 of which are at the bar. Then decided to cancel our food order, get told we canāt do that hereās the bill & your food has been ready. THEN we got some bs from the bartender saying she told us our food was ready when she clearly said ālast I checked it wasnāt up, Iāll check in a few and let ya knowā (about 40 minutes in). We left with our cold pizza and will never be back.
Order ahead or not at all, unless you want to be stuck at the Publik Houses sinking bar for over an hour. Itās pizza.
PS: to the little dude who thought he should chime in while we are talking to the bartender: the girl youāre on a date with is there solely for a free meal, thatās why she was over a half hour late and didnāt want you to touch her. But... enjoy another glass of Kendal Jackson while you try to figure out your failed dating...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWas feeling a little hungry for Italian this week, and seeing as how Publik House is on the corner of my trip home, I figured I'd give it a shot.
Ordering was easy, placing my order over the phone a few hours prior to pickup. When I got there the meal was neatly bagged up and ready to go, and the entire bill was pretty reasonable for an Eggplant Parmesan with the Ziti and the Onion Ring Basket.
Upon reaching home and opening up the bag I found the heft came from the Eggplant Parmesan which had a thick layer of melted mozzarella on top of it. Not overdone mind you, just a hefty amount. Now I was worried this would leave the eggplant rather soggy, but it was done well enough that it was moist but not drenched in cheese oils. And the Ziti was cooked properly and not overdone with the light sauce covering, the Onion Ring Basket however left me somewhat disappointed. It was more like an Onion Ring Handful, lacked any kind of flavor, and the only positive was the texture was excellent. Wish they had added some kind of dipping sauce to add some flavor, and also had a dozen more rings to make an actual basket.
Overall the price was nice, the meal was prepared properly, the eggplant was delicious, the rings were a disappointment, but I might return to try one of their other dishes with some...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was our first time going here. Small restaurant with a nice little menu to choose from. We were greeted nicely from the hostess. Our server came right over after about 3 minutes of sitting down. Very friendly and was able to answer any questions about the menu. We ordered our drinks and a order of boneless chicken wings. Pizza is highly recommend from here from the waitress. Were ordered a small 4 cut pizza with pepperoni and sausage. Meatball sub and a chicken parm sub also. Chose of side comes along with these also. Fries and macaroni salad was our choice. Waitress was always there asking for a refill and never had to ask. Food came out in less the 20 minutes and was hot, fries were nice and crispy. Lots of cheese on both subs and a nice portion of sausage and Peperoni on the pizza. 3 entrees and drinks were less the $55.00. Place was very clean. The pizza was very good, thin crust and not doughy. Will go back again. Track season so the place...
